Hey everyone!
Loki here again, your friendly neighborhood night shift dev, fueled by caffeine, cozy sims, and an unhealthy attachment to tiny race cars.
I’ve got a fun little update for you today, and yes… it involves a cat.
A cat that may or may not think your shop is their shop now.
This update includes a whole new part type, a new boost mechanic, keybinding support, new shoppers, QoL fixes, and more.... but let’s be honest: the cat will probably steal the spotlight anyway.
Rare Part Booster Pack: Higher tier packs that guarantee Rare and above parts.
Battery Booster Pack (10)
Battery Booster Pack (25)
Now that batteries exist (more on that below), you can stock and sell the packs.
Cars now have Battery Capacity, which determines how long they can run on the track. Longer tracks? You’ll want a beefier battery.
If your battery runs out:
Your car rolls to a stop… and sadly DNFs.
Press T during a race to give your car a burst of:
Speed
Acceleration
Cornering
Stability
Boosts use a chunk of your battery, so use them wisely!
This stat controls how well your car carries speed through turns. Low cornering = big slowdowns.
Stability now uses a simpler, more predictable system with “risk checkpoints” around the track.
Failing the check leads to possible crash or slowdown.
No more weird lateral gforce edge cases.
Removed Weight stat
Cars stuck for a short time are now flagged as DNF (fixes cars that get wedged or crashed out on the track)
You can now rebind any mouse or keyboard input you want. Gamepad support will come later.
All UI hints now show proper icons instead of text for a nice little QoL win.
Hold Interact to repeatedly scan/place items
Pause Menu now resets when closed
Updated default bindings
Reduced grab distance for a more grounded feel
The star of the update.
They hang out in your shop
You can pet them
They are adorable
This is only the beginning…
Added 9 new shopper models for more variety
Test races now show the minimap and allow boosting
Shoppers leave if there's nothing to buy
Reduced shopper idle “thinking” pauses for faster decision making
Fixed Chassis Order Box actually giving chassis packs
Fixed shelf movement causing random product rotation
Fixed a bug where clients joining a shop would not hide a shoppers items in their "cart" thus creating random floating items
Fixed opening packs while looking down launching you out of the map...
Fixed inconsistent highlight sizing
Fixed customers sometimes paying the wrong amount
Prevent ending the day while placing track pieces
Fixed arcade machines getting stuck
Fixed a rare walk speed toggle bug
This is another step towards the public demo, and I’m excited to keep polishing things up. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts, questions, and ideas!
Hit that Discuss button and leave a comment, let’s build this cozy little world together.
And if you haven’t yet: please Wishlist the game, it seriously helps a ton!
