Hey crew, it's been about a month since the release of Ironclad's steam page so we just wanted to make a short, informal dev update to keep everyone in the loop on what we've been working on!
Firstly, I just wanna say how thankful we are for everyone who has come across the game and decided to wishlist it. We've surpassed 2000 wishlists already which, if I'm being honest, is better than what our goal was for the store page release.
Obviously you guys can't play the game yet, so I'll keep the changelog informal and I'm sure some things will be left out.
Revamped Tank Movement (v2): Before, tanks could scale buildings like spiderman but we felt that wasn't quite in line with the experience we wanted to give players, so we updated the movement to be fully physics-based.
Added sfx to all tank actions (entering and exiting seats, entering and exiting through the hatches, procedural engine sounds, and turret rotation)
Fixed a bug that altered the player's camera position if sitting in the tank while crouched
Fixed a bug that would highlight the tank's driver seat for players that had previously sat in the driver's seat.
All enemies now aggro onto the player via line-of-sight and will only stop chasing a player if line-of-sight is broken for t seconds.
Implemented behavior for the "Tick" (our largest enemy) so they will attack the player and die similarly to the other monsters
Adjusted health and speed values for all monsters
Added sfx to all monsters (footsteps, attack, death)
Fixed bugs associated with how items snap to sockets on the players' hands.
Implemented ammo crates and ammo bricks
Artifact can now be picked up and held
Designed full test level for City Scene
Greyboxed the "Gate" (level transition area)
Updated ground textures
Fixed navmesh bugs that prevented monsters from pathfinding entirely or pathfinding to the top of buildings
Fixed a bug that prevented the Hit React animation from playing for clients
Players now drop their entire inventory on death
Users can now quit out of the game
Implemented settings menu (audio sliders, graphics settings, etc)
Implemented Proximity Chat
Implemented various colors for player characters that are randomly given on game start
Various misc. bug fixes
We know that people are eager to play a demo of Ironclad, and every change made to the game is in pursuit of getting to a vertical slice that can be played by everyone. That being said, I'd like to temper expectations and let you know that you'll have to wait a bit longer. As we get closer to an expected demo launch, we will be sure to make another announcement here and in our discord. Until then, thank you again, and we can't wait to share our next update.
