Hey everyone, Thor AKA GameMaster here. I am the Lead Community Manager of Skyward Masters. I'm super thrilled to announce that Skyward Masters will be at Denmarks biggest gaming event and expo, Gamebox Festival 2026, in Herning - but more about that later. After a very successful Copenhagen Gaming Week 2026 expo, we wanted to focus on QoL, UX and Optimization improvements for Gamebox playtesting...
... but we ALSO thought it was about time to show our community our much the game has grown visually as well. We have a tireless art team dead set on making Skyward Masters immersive and impactful in its design even here in pre-alpha. So take a look and judge for yourselves.
Haven't we come a long way since the 2025 Visual Teaser?
(Ahem, let me just enclose the 2025 version as well)
Shoutout to our small, but talented team of 3D artists, tech artists and Mr. Art Director himself, co-founder Bjarke. If YOU watched the Visual Update, playtested at any of our community events in Denmark or just think - like us - that Skyward Masters is an awesome concept with high potential, it would mean the world to us if you would Wishlist it. Of course, only if you plan to play it.
This project is not without it's difficulties. It started as a completely different genre (hero shooter) and after deciding to move more into the Tactical FPS part while still leaning into Fast-Paced Arena Shooter style, we are really starting to find our look and feel. Of course, what haven't changed is our dedicated towards reimagining Bedwars. That is still in our DNA. And we still think Skyward Masters is a Hybrid Genre, but that doesn't change the fact that over the next 6 months, as we start developing for Alpha, we will need to work closely together with Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen - worlds only 5x CSGO Major winner - to get Skyward Masters to a place of a solid game loop and FPS feeling. Nothing else will simply do.
In the end, if it doesn't feel good to shoot, to build holobridges, to maneuver around in a high movement mastery Arena Shooter, we have failed already. It's one of the many reasons why playtesting and feedback is so important to us! Why we have so much development focus currently on events and expos, instead of tunnel-visioning straight for Alpha. We would rather stay just a little more in Pre-Alpha to get feedback, get its current state exposed to the real world, real players, and find our foundation both game design-wise, but also in worldbuilding, lore and character theme. Which, did you know? We had a whole Vote for Your Favorite Character Theme on our Discord server? If you missed it, it's time to join our community here: discord.gg/skywardmasters. We hope you love the new Visual Update.
Stay Skyward. All the best, and until next time,
GameMaster
