Singleplayer gameplay has received ( yet another) massive overhaul! The spam is on!

I hope many of you didn’t think i was leaving single player in the dust, I very much intend to expand upon and improve the gameplay of the singleplayer mode. Draw, Place, Draw, Place, etc. got old really fast. So I’ve decided to entirely change the game and throw it on its head. What has resulted is a much more smooth-flowing and rapid-fire experience. This has manifested in many ways:

  • Stages are now 3 rounds long instead of 4. Each stage will now consist of a regular, challenge, and then boss round. Even on fever 0 you will have to fend off your bingo demons. Tough break, I know. This reduces the overall stage count of a run to 21. This makes runs still have enough time to allow you to develop cool combos, but not so long you need to binge watch a sitcom on your second monitor to get through.

  • Draws are no longer a run-long bank. Instead you will be given a starting amount of draws (10)  that will refill every round. Old rules still apply for losing here: Run out of draws, you lose, but now you get an equal shot every round (provided you’ve spent your money wisely).

  • You will no longer be placing one ball per draw. Instead, you will have to place all of the balls remaining in the draw cache before drawing more.

  • The refill draws button in the shop  is now the Upgrade Draws button, which will upgrade your starting draws every round once per stage (though it’ll cost you a pretty penny)

  • Goals are now much harder (again) and will ramp up more drastically between stages and rounds.

Other gameplay additions/ changes to singleplayer

  • Betty and James have swapped virtues.

    • Betty will now start with Humility (Change all drawn balls to specials)

    • James will now start with Diligence. (Trigger immediate card-swap without taking up a card use)

  • Any Item which allowed accumulated stacking of money bonuses and rerolls have been granted a soft cap as to not break the economy. I will be on the lookout for more economy-breaking strats.

  • Auto-Select mode has been added to the settings. When Auto-Select mode is enabled, the game will automatically select balls in your draw queue (if you have any) for you to place after placing one. This allows for rapid-fire placement of your whole queue!

  • Envy, Wrath, and Gluttony spaces are now twice as rare as the other sin space types. These sins are very strong and can be run-enders when encountered together in great numbers. They should still feel challenging but not over-bearingly disappointing to see on your card. I will still keep an eye out for any particularly odious situations created by sin spaces.

  • Scoring multiple lines in a chain will grant diminishing returns on money earned. The first 3 lines will still earn a dollar each, but after that only the 5th, 8th, 11th, and so on’s lines will be scored, following a “loose fibonacci sequence”.

Other Game-Wide Changes / Additions

  • Added a little preview ball by your cursor when a ball is selected to show you what is in your hand. This also works in Multiplayer.

  • The tutorial has been updated with new gameplay information, condensed and revised to flow more naturally and have less redundant information. It is half or less as long now. It also naturally guides the player towards using the virtue and hold slot to show how they are used.

Bugfixes / polish / small changes

  • Fixed many bugs revolving multiplayer pacing, mainly revolving around blackouts and game-ending damage not showing animations before cutting to the results screen

  • Fixed some bugs revolving around loading opponent stats and certain opponent cosmetic choices online

  • Polished up and fixed a few visual glitches surrounding the free blotter menu to make it flow a little more naturally and be less back-and-forth. (the shop no longer briefly appears and disappears before the free blotter menu is shown)

  • Small visual changes have been made to angel/demon space sprites to fix a few visual inconsistencies.

  • A bunch of other small irksome fixes that I probably don’t remember exactly, but I know that they’re in there!

There are always yet more bugs to be found! If you happen to find any let me know by posting in the community hub or by checking out the official Bingo Betty Discord, which has bug tracking threads to most easily keep track of pesky issues.

What’s next for Betty?

Do YOU have what it takes to help Betty become the next top bingo mogul? Do YOU want to help shape the future of the game’s development? Do YOU have a cool piece of fan art or gameplay or anything else you’d like to share with the other retirees down at the community? Join the Bingo Betty Discord and be on the ready for future events and projects! I think I may need a small army of about 50+ testers at some point to help really nail down this multiplayer thing I've got myself into...

Till next time,
Eli

To clarify, the game has a number of what i call "Cameo" Dialogues, where you can catch a glimpse of goings-on in other places around the hall. These are meant to be a reward as well as a comedic break from the action…Game update31 Jul 2026Bingo Betty 1.0.2 HotfixA Hotfix has just gone live for Bingo Betty.
