Bingo Betty 1.0.4

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been somewhat quiet over here since release! I have been very busy at my full-time dayjob (gotta pay the rent somehow haha!), but i've been working on this patch in the between times to fix a couple small issues that I have seen crop up.

Also, The Soundtrack has released in full on pretty much any music streaming service you can think of! Jam out to your favorite stage music or dialogue track on your platform of choice! Let me know what your favorite song in the soundtrack is! (Mine's stage 7's theme!)

New readability option: Simple Font Mode

Everyone in this game talks in their own handwriting, and some of that handwriting is, frankly, hostile.

I am still carefully looking at and working on ways to improve the readibility of some of the worst offending fonts, while still retaining unique style and character for every speaker. If you can bear through it and enjoy the characteriation, Awesome; But for those who have trouble, I have added a new option to hopefully ease some of the friction until I can get everyone's font juuuuust right.

The new Simple Font Mode toggle in the options menu renders all dialogue in the plain pixel font instead, so you can actually read what the demons are threatening you with. Off by default; flips in from the next line spoken.A very small number of speakers are exempt and keep their strange lettering. If you have met them, you know exactly why. If you have not: it is not a font problem. One housekeeping note: the old Labeled Panels option is gone — its labels (the Passive Items header and the card queue's next-card arrow) are simply always on now. I don't think anyone really noticed it or will miss it. If you did, or if there is any other QoL options you can think of, hit up the official discord and let me know!

Deck Fixes (?)

  • Button prompts on Steam Deck SHOULD now show Deck buttons. Previously the game looked at the Deck's controls, shrugged, and showed you keyboard keys, as if you could just press E on a handheld. Every prompt in the game now draws the proper Deck glyphs.

  • Deck detection is sturdier in general — the Deck likes to introduce its own controls under several different names, and the game now sees through all of them instead of guessing "probably an Xbox pad."

Any players experiencing issues, strangeness, or even if you have any user experience notes on the steam deck, please let me know! I am still without a deck to test myself, so the more of you lovely bingo biddies out there jamming in some ufo chains on your bathroom break, the better!

Other small changes/Fixes

  • Scratcher goals have been looked at to remain more consistent with the hoverbox and their actual goal. Some scratcher hoverboxes had old data that has now been fixed.

  • Related: at high fever, some goals were completing earlier than the displayed target. The bar, the goal text, and the actual requirement are now one number.

  • Scratcher goal descriptions ("Score 3 blackouts") now quote the scaled target you are really chasing, instead of a smaller base number that sat there contradicting the progress line next to it.

  • The big full-screen blotter symbol that flashes when a blotter goes off could hang around over the results screen if the round ended mid-flash. It now leaves when the round does, and a failsafe makes sure it can never get stranded on your screen again.

To clarify, the game has a number of what i call "Cameo" Dialogues, where you can catch a glimpse of goings-on in other places around the hall. These are meant to be a reward as well as a comedic break from the action…Game update31 Jul 2026Bingo Betty 1.0.2 HotfixA Hotfix has just gone live for Bingo Betty.
