Patch 1.12 - Jukebox update

Hi Deer Gamers!

I've released version 1.12 of Reindeer Story! As with last time, I'm aiming to use January to apply changes based on feedback from the community and reviews!

This patch introduces a new option on the Title Screen, 'Options' which replaces 'Steam'. On the Options you can set the Text Speed and Volume Settings. Any settings set while the titlescreen will carry across to, New Game+ or Load Game saves. If no options are set then the game will use the defaults when starting a new game, or when loading a save it will load that save's previous settings.

I've added a Juke Box to the ground floor Five Gold Rings Hotel in Sweet Street, where you you can listen to the game's music! This will be available once you reach chapter 4. I hope everyone enjoys listening to the game's soundtrack!

New Functionality

  • Replaced the Steam option on the title screen with Options.
  • Added a Juke box to Sweet Street.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug which caused a crash when trying to return to the previous screen on the last screen of Chestnut Falls.
  • Fixed a bug which caused a certain area of the tracks of the Toy Train not to be counted as a pitfall.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the player to appear on the wrong spot when backtracking to the room before the Chase with Mousestein.

Thanks again for playing Reindeer Story! I'll continue to keep an eye out for feedback and reviews even past the holiday season, whether it's November, December, January or June I'll be listening!

Thanks for reading!

Azzie!

Just another small patch. v1.4 improved the games performance while displaying the minimap in big rooms. But after releasing v1.4 I was reviewing the minimap code and thought of a way to make it more efficient in general. Previously the minimap was drawn square by square which was very inefficient as it was drawing ~1600-2500 squares on the screen each frame. It's now done row-by-r…
