future updates to the game will have the gameplay sections load instantly. on slower pcs in the future the part of the map that allows you to explore everything will also have fast loading times when play in 480p is selected. the load times for these new maps are potentially 1.35 seconds on a n150 with a ufs drive. an ssd would potentially be faster but probably would be negligible.
that being said these maps have worse lighting so they look substantially uglier. we tried to fix this using baked lighting but it didnt quite work.
here are the pretty textures that can be seen at any resolution including 480p if 480phq is selected. all textures in the game don't use mipmaps
here are the textures for the maps that load faster. these maps have had precomputed lighting removed and use baked lighting instead. this results in a reduction in file size per map from 47 megabytes to 26 megabytes
this is the updated low end image. it was updated as of 3/14/26 3:19 pst. it uses baked lighting instead of dynamic lighting.
