Hello Centurion,

The first update for Summa Expeditionis is now available! With this update, we aimed to address the community feedback we’ve gathered during the game’s first month. Your ideas, concerns, and recommendations have been immensely valuable to us, and we are deeply grateful that you took the time to play, understand, and enjoy Summa Expeditionis, and to share your feedback through Discord, Reddit, X, and the Steam Community.

0.1.1 Update

CHANGES

  • The auxiliary spear in the initial equipment selection has been replaced with a pilum.
  • Building connection points now enforce rotation to ensure alignment.
  • Raiding Roman deserters now wear blue, matching deserter camp visuals.
  • Legionaries and higher ranks no longer equip javelin backpacks, focusing on their melee potential.

CONTENT

  • Added 9 slots to the large shelf for storing helmets up to the legionary rank and one slot for a javelin box.
  • Added 3 slots to the medium shelf for storing molds for the forge, allowing unwanted molds to be removed.
  • Added the ability to smelt daggers, swords, and tools in the forge.
  • Added 3 new molds to the stonemason's table: shovel head mold, pickaxe head mold, and *securis* (axe) head mold.
  • Added 3 new items associated with the molds.
  • Added 3 new recipes to the armorer's table: shovel, pickaxe, and *securis* (axe).
  • Added helmets as "repairable" items at the armorer's table.
  • Added 8 slots to the Tier 1 weapon rack for storing javelin backpacks.
  • Added 2 slots for bows to the Tier 1 table.
  • Added 2 slots for quivers to the Tier 1 table.
  • Added the recipe for the leather quiver, craftable at the Tier 1 workbench.
  • Added the recipe for the bow, craftable at the Tier 2 armorer's table.
  • Added a new item: "Wooden Arrow."
  • Added the recipe for the wooden arrow to the armorer's table (currently just a stick; take advantage of the low-damage arrow offer!).
  • Added some Kickstarter content rewards. (Check your Kickstarter inbox if you haven’t received yours).
  • Added 5 new shields for the Cantabrian and Vascone factions.
  • Added a new backpack: "Stone Backpack," which allows you to carry 2 stones without a speed penalty.
  • Added an "Alarm" button to the camp management interface. This command activates all soldiers in alarm mode; they will run to equip themselves and patrol guard posts, walls, and gates. (This feature still has significant potential).
  • The time between autosaves has been added to the game settings.

LANGUAGES

  • Added Turkish to the available languages.
  • Added Italian to the available languages.

AI

  • Modified AI decision-making regarding tasks, with adjustments to manufacturing need calculations.
  • AI now recovers up to 25% of sleep while sitting and does not consume sleep while seated. Recovery is also affected by the comfort of the seating area, similar to sleeping.
  • Improved task queue processing.
  • Stone workers and camp workers can now use stone backpacks during their workday.

PERFORMANCE

  • Fixed several visual glitches: wake-up animations, work animations, and transport animations.
  • Resolved several performance bottlenecks causing FPS drops.
  • Improved performance when loading new areas during exploration.

BUG FIXING

  • Fixed a bug that reset straw and wicker storages when saving and loading the game.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the AI not to defend camp boundaries, leading to frequent losses against wild animals.
  • Fixed a bug where NPCs would unsheathe weapons and drop heavy objects even when passively in formation.
  • Fixed a bug that turned some NPCs into "zombies" if the game was saved at the moment of their death.
  • Fixed dismantling issues with buildings: fences and wooden stairs.
  • Fixed a bug that did not maintain the dismantling order for buildings after loading a save.
  • Fixed a bug that caused backpacks to fall to the ground when equipping a new backpack while already carrying one (e.g., javelin backpack, arrow quiver).
  • Fixed several issues with AI interaction with stairs and platforms for palisades.
