Thanks to everyone out there who has played BIG HOPS and especially those who have given us feedback. We appreciate everyone taking the time to review the game! We take all the criticism really seriously and are committed to improving the game as much as possible. Today we're taking a BIG STEP in that direction with the QOL Update. Here's the big stuff:
Completionist Tablet
Once you successfully rebuild the Airship and go inside, you'll find a new gadget that will help find the rest of those collectibles you're missing out on. Thanks for your patience on this- being totally honest we were surprised just how much players have connected with BIG HOPS as a collect-a-thon.
Keyboard Rebinds
This was the biggest missing feature at launch in my opinion. We had some negative reviews focused on this and they were fair. There's a new button in the settings menu to let you rebind your keyboard input. For controllers we're still relying on Steam Input and recommend you use Steam's workflow.
Hold to Skip Dialogue
Our speedrunners were loud and clear that mashing buttons to get through dialogue quickly was threatening to give them a RSI. We want speedrunning Hops to be fun and only slightly painful so we've added a new settings menu option to allow holding down a button to skip dialogue. Note this will only appear after you've beaten the game on any save. New Trinkets
You'll notice there are a handful of new Trinkets in the rotation now. Pretend you don't see those for now as they're meant to be a part of our upcoming free Photography DLC. As far as QOL features go there is one new Trinket focused on that: 'Hat Stays On' makes it so your hat won't fall off when bonking into walls. Enjoy!
----------------------------------------------------------- Last thing I'll mention: we're hard at working on Uncapped Framerate! Progress is going well, but we're still figuring out how to make this change without impacting our console versions. Expect that update in the next month. Cheers,
