Hi gamers,
Minor update today coming, with the biggest news being a new achievement!
Apologies achievement hunters, this does mean you've lost your 100% ;)
The new achievement is for beating the game in a minute, but this time it has to be without without using the malfunctioning pod.
For getting this achievement, you unlock a new skin: Bob Hatter
It may actually be harder to get this achievement than the existing 30 seconds one. I think there are at least a few options for routes that could work, so experiment! Let a thousand blossoms bloom as far as I'm concerned.
(Please note this achievement is not an endorsement of the political views held by any particular large-hat-wearing individual)
Most other changes are small bug fixes and polish, but it's all good stuff methinks.
Added a new achievement for beating the game in under a minute, but this time without using the item pod!
Improvements to Schism's dialogue flow, especially for first introduction.
Added a link to join the Discord to the pause menu.
Improved readability of several lowercase characters, notably 'v', along with subtler changes to 'w', 'u', 'n', and 'm'.
Fixed content on the character menu drawing lower than it should as resolution increases, which could easily lead to text trailing off the bottom of the screen.
Fixed the "Press F1 to report a bug" text going out of alignment with the version number depending on screen resolution.
Fixed issues with alignment of the black background rectangle behind text. (This has been very, very wrong since launch... oops)
Fixed black circle appearing over larger player skins during dialogue (this was caused by the shield being stuck in its first frame of being deployed because you're technically braking during dialogue. This issue never mattered before adding the skins, because the standard ship is small enough that even the first frame of the shield didn't overlap.)
Totally boring housekeeping note, I'm also chopping off the last digit so it's just 1.2. I think it'll be rare that I feel the need to do a .1, .2, etc patch, unless I accidentally introduce some horrible bug and need to patch it out (which will inevitably happen one day, in which case I will admit defeat and add the last digit back for the patch).
In general I'll only be pushing updates once I've made a good bunch of changes, as I only tinker with the game every now and then at the moment.
I was really expecting to need to do a lot more maintenance on it, but I'm quite surprised how few issues have come up (I mean the Steam Deck issue was pretty big but that's fixed now).
Lastly, I wanted to mention that I have been (slowly) working on my next game :) (Nothing major to say on it publicly yet tho)
Thanks for checkin the update out gamers <3
And good luck with that new achievement!
