We’re having another asset heavy month this time as we build up systems for upgrades, narratives and combat. Let's get into it!
Welcome home! This is the place where our protagonist, Eike, starts their day. On the top floor, you’ll be able to upgrade your character and sort through your notebook. Downstairs scientist Ida - who set-up shop in your house temporarily - waits for your findings. The interior is once again inspired by Swiss design of course and reflects the floral style featured in our UI.
Last month, you saw what the eldritch corruption will do to the villagers - but they're not the only ones affected! As time goes on, the situation in the village becomes more dire: the water takes on a sickly purple colour, the mountains lose their beautiful greenery, the once vibrant grass and trees begin to succumb to the eldritch forces.
It was time once again to remove some of the placeholder assets in the combat and give everything a layer of polish. The purple background needed some texture to get rid of its flat look but it shouldn’t be too noticeable and take away attention from the tools. We decided on a repeatable texture and added drop shadows on either side for extra depth.
The X-Ray still needs polish but we got rid of most of the placeholder artwork. Our goal was to make the X-Ray feel like another tool in your toolbelt. The rounded edges and decorative elements certainly already help achieve that. The monster’s health bar is now diegetic as well, displayed as part of the X-Ray rather than a floating element.
That’s it for the March update! As always go and wishlist our game if you haven’t already and follow us on our socials!
