As many of you may have seen, Polyion has not had any updates for quite some time, this is due to a variety of issues both during development and in my personal life. Polyion launched almost 3 years ago into Early Access and has changed a lot since the original release, I struggled to find a gameplay loop or game theme that felt right to me for this game. Recently I decided to sit down and take some time planning and thinking about what I want this game to be with no scope-creep or crazy ideas. During this time I looked back on older versions of Polyion, other personal game projects I have been working on and things that have interested me over the years from small scale games to unrelated things like movies and shows.
With all of this I have finally landed on a smaller-scope and more focused game, and while I don't want to reveal too much as of right now as the the game is being re-worked and new features and parts of the game are being worked on and developed, I can say the game is more focused on exploration and navigation on a planet where you will make use of tools to study your surroundings and survive on a planet as a rover.
Polyion will continue to be in Early Access and the new update that overhauls and changes the game and its direction will bring it back to an 0.1 release. There is no specific date for when the game will go into full release, but as of right now the plan is to be preparing for a 1.0 version some time around Christmas/New Year and then launching into 1.0 after the New Year.
The new version of Polyion will release on the 25th of September!
