Hey Everyone,

We have a pretty big update today that refines everything about players' first experience with the game. If you're already deep into RKW, you may not notice many changes, but new players will find the early game much more polished.

The reworked tutorial is the highlight of this update. Based on community feedback, it’s now more accessible and provides clearer guidance. Gradual learning and a streamlined storyline ensure players can fully grasp mechanics while enjoying the experience.

We’ve also resolved key technical issues, including startup glitches and graphical inconsistencies, to make the initial experience smoother. Early gameplay has been streamlined, letting players dive into the strategic depth faster.

Finally, we’ve prioritized balancing and visuals. Changes to building durability, unit spawns, and textures improve strategy and immersion. Small fixes, like overlapping text and refined UI elements, add to the polish.

With that said, let’s see what our 10th update has in store.

REWORKED TUTORIAL

  • Greatly improved and reworked the game’s tutorial.
  • New voice-acted cinematics for the later part of the tutorial.
  • Fully reworked “Attack the First Hamlet” tutorial.
  • Fully reworked “Build the Town” tutorial.
  • Various changes and additions to the world map tutorial.
  • Main tutorial storyline now focuses on the Kingdom of Poland.
  • Dozens of new tips, advice, and objectives added to the tutorial.
  • Combat tutorial now includes a battle against a hamlet with a palisade.

ALL STARTUP ISSUES FIXED

  • Fixed all issues preventing some players from starting the game on the first run.
  • Resolved issues with the game loading in unusual resolutions.
  • Fixed graphical issues causing the game to appear overly pixelated, dark, or ultra-bright for some players.
  • Fixed issues with UI elements being broken or stretched during the first run.

OTHER CHANGES AND ADDITIONS

  • Reverted holiday theme to the normal game logo and main menu.
  • Fixed a prologue issue where progression could get stuck after the tutorial.
  • Directional arrows for tasks now only show when player units are selected.
  • Fixed issues with players attacking large cities prematurely during the prologue.
  • Improved RTS terrain textures for summer, fall, and spring seasons.
  • Army camps now include new building plots during sieges and battles.
  • Simplified building plot categories for hamlets and army camps.
  • Disabled gate control buttons at wall plots.
  • Greatly improved unit spawning in player siege camps.
  • Fixed trees appearing overly bright when on fire.
  • Onboarding message text no longer overlaps plot text.
    BALANCING CHANGES
  • Large towns now provide Billman mercenaries instead of Heavy Billmen.
  • All buildings now have varying armor values based on their materials.
  • Wooden buildings are much easier to destroy than heavy stone structures.
  • All buildings are generally easier to destroy.

As always, your feedback is at the heart of everything we do. This update is a direct response to community suggestions and bug reports, and we’re so grateful for your continued support.
If you encounter any issues or have ideas for future improvements, please don’t hesitate to let us know on our Steam forums. Your input is invaluable, and we’re committed to addressing your feedback as quickly as possible.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
