Crypto that makes sense at any era, Data Centers that run on real servers, and a rival world that grows around you

Crypto used to open at its launch day price no matter when you started, mining meant Bitcoin and nothing else, and a Data Center was a number that made coins. This update makes all of it real. Coins now carry prices that fit the era, eight of them can be mined, a Data Center is a building you stock with servers, and the rival companies around you now grow, list and compete over time. Existing saves are compatible.

CRYPTO THAT MAKES SENSE

Coins now open at a price that fits the year. Start in a later year and Bitcoin trades in the thousands, Ethereum in the hundreds and the smaller coins in cents, each ranked and valued as you would expect for the era, instead of the fraction of a cent it launched at decades earlier. Start in 1990 and you still watch every coin launch cheap and climb over the years, exactly as before.

  • Eight proof of work coins can now be mined, not just Bitcoin. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Monero, Dash and Zcash each appear in the mining picker once they have launched. The other coins are bought and sold on the market as they always were.

  • Mining rewards now scale with your hash power, so building more capacity earns you more, while rival miners dilute your share. Each coin is tuned so that mining it is a sensible business whatever year you begin in. A young, cheap coin mines for little and rewards you as it matures, so mining early is about accumulating cheap coins that grow in value, exactly as it worked in the real world.

DATA CENTERS RUN ON SERVERS

A Data Center is now a building you fill with servers, and the servers are its processing power. A new center starts empty and idle, buys servers over time to fill its racks, and its mining hash or its hosting capacity climbs as the fleet grows. Servers are a real running cost, and the servers your factories produce finally have a buyer.

  • You decide how full to keep it. Every Data Center holds up to a hundred servers, and a fill target you set decides how many of its racks stay stocked. Raise it to grow the fleet, lower it or sell the lot to hand servers back to the market for cash, so a center is never locked into a size or left sitting as dead money.

  • You decide where its servers come from. Buy them from the market as the center needs them, or have it draw from your own warehouses so a factory you own supplies the racks directly. A center set to use your own supply holds off rather than topping up from the market when your stock runs short.

  • Your buildings now report daily. A mining Data Center credits its coins and updates its hash, output and running profit every day rather than once a month, so you watch it work as time passes instead of waiting for the month to roll over.

A WORLD THAT GROWS

  • Rival companies now expand over time. A profitable company builds new facilities as it grows, so the world of mines, factories, stores and Data Centers fills out over a long game rather than standing still.

  • Dedicated crypto mining companies now float on the market once crypto arrives. They run their own mining Data Centers and compete for hash, so the network grows and your share of the rewards shrinks as more miners appear.

  • Some rival companies now run server hosting Data Centers and buy their servers from the market, so the server trade has real demand behind it.

MONEY AND TAX

  • Mining always costs cash to yield coins. A Data Center only mines while its owner can pay its power and server bills, so it can never credit free coins once the wallet runs dry, and it fills its racks only when it can afford them.

  • Tax on fractional holdings is now correct. Buying and selling part of a coin, commodity or currency is taxed on the real gain rather than a rounded one, and the coins you mine are taxed when you sell them.

  • Mining now draws on the power grid. A large mining operation puts real demand on the power market, so heavy mining lifts power prices across the economy.

FIXES AND POLISH

  • The start year field no longer shows a stray comma, so a year reads as a year rather than a quantity.

  • The population figure now shows only the live count and how fast it is changing, without the internal starting value being visible.

  • The main menu market chart and its volume bars now run flush to the edges of the screen, filling the full width instead of sitting inside a margin.
