Hello everybody, this week focused mostly on improving combat surf. There's still a lot of work to be done, but I hope these changes make things a little more exciting and playable.

This update also introduces a very rudimentary npc in the form of a zombie. This will be improved over time to start bringing in fun PvE gameplay elements and allow modders to create interesting things.

  • Tuned positional audio of all weapons
  • Improved the recoil on SMG, Sniper, Rifle, and Pistol
  • Unscope the sniper immediately after firing
  • Added sound for scoping in with sniper
  • Improved aimpunch and viewpunch animations
  • Change color of player depending on team
  • Improved hitboxes to line up more with the player's animation
  • Combat surf has its own scoreboard now showing kills and deaths
  • Added a radial menu for weapon selection (press b, bind key surface.toggle weaponselector, or set in settings)
  • Added a team choose menu (press m, bind key surface.toggle chooseteam, or set in settings)
  • Improved the responsiveness of workshop subscribe/unsubscribe buttons to prevent starting multiple downloads
  • Fixed some input issues relating to modals that block input
  • When a player dies a zombie will spawn in his place. Kill the zombie to restore health
