Nephilim,
First, thank you to everyone who has jumped into Crimson Moon since launch, and especially for your patience while we've been working through the issues some players have encountered.
We also want to thank everyone who has taken the time to report bugs, share videos, send us Support tickets, or simply tell us when something isn't working as it should. Those reports have been incredibly valuable to the team as we investigate issues and prioritise fixes including our recent 1.0.0.1 update which improved keybinding support on PC.
We know many of you have been asking what we’re working on, when fixes are coming, and what you can expect from Crimson Moon over the coming weeks. We’ve heard you, and we’re taking action.
Our goal with each update is to address both the critical issues affecting players and the quality-of-life feedback you’ve been sharing with us. Rather than only talking about each update as it arrives, we wanted to give you a clearer look at what’s ahead.
Our first major hotfix is targeting release across all platforms this week. The team is currently completing final testing and approvals with our platform partners, and assuming everything goes smoothly, we expect to have the update in your hands this week. If we encounter any last-minute issues during that process, we're targeting early next week instead.
Hotfix 1.0.1 addresses several of the biggest issues players have been experiencing since launch, including camera and lock-on behaviour, save and progression loss, crashes, co-op issues and UI issues.
In particular, we're introducing rolling backup saves to provide additional protection if a save becomes corrupted or fails to load, alongside fixes for several instances where player progression could be unintentionally reset.
We've also addressed a number of crashes across platforms, including one that sometimes occurred during the Egregore boss fight, as well as improvements to camera and lock-on behaviour around large enemies and bosses.
And that's only part of the update. There are a lot more fixes included in Hotfix 1.0.1, and we'll share the complete patch notes as soon as the update goes live.
Hotfix 1.0.1 is only the beginning.
We're already working on Hotfix 1.0.2, currently planned for later this month, with another substantial round of fixes and improvements including co-op and crossplay fixes, quest and objective blockers, combat and boss fixes, controller button customisation, and improved Boon information.
Beyond that, Update 1.1 is currently planned for late October, with some bigger quality-of-life improvements based on the feedback we've been hearing from players.
We'll have much more to share about both updates as we get closer to their release.
We've seen plenty of you asking what comes next for Crimson Moon beyond fixes and improvements.
Right now, our priority is addressing the issues affecting players and making sure you can enjoy Crimson Moon without bugs getting in the way. This is where our team’s focus is right now as we continue working to improve Crimson Moon.
But fixes aren't the end of the story.
Once we've got those immediate priorities in a better place, we'll start peeling back the curtain on what's next for Crimson Moon.
And while we're not quite ready to reveal everything yet, we can tell you this:
We've got some exciting things cooking for our next FREE content update.
More on that when the time is right. 🩸
Thank you again for playing, for your patience, and for continuing to tell us where we can make Crimson Moon better.
— The Crimson Moon Team
