Playto: Learn Languages Through Games · published · build 24682271

This is the first of several updates focused on how the overlay looks and behaves while you play. We're shipping them in small steps so each change is easy to judge — and easy for you to call out when something still feels wrong.
Overlay grouping and positioning still have rough edges we know about — that's what the next updates in this series are for.
Alongside Near text and Bottom there is now a third option: Custom. Pick it when starting a capture (or in Settings), drag a box anywhere on screen, and translations appear there. This also works in window capture, which previously had no way to move the overlay.
Short stat labels such as HP or MP are now shown as-is instead of being retranslated over and over, while real menu words such as Exit or Cancel are translated again. This also removes a steady stream of wasted translation calls — which saves Cloud credits if you use Playto Cloud.
UX polish lives on the small details, and your reports decide what the next update in this series fixes first. Anything that looks off — a jumpy overlay, an odd position, a label that reads wrong — reach us via Contact us inside the app, on Discord, or right here in the Steam discussions.
Local translation depends on your GPU, and demanding games don't leave it much room. If you want higher translation quality, play GPU-heavy games, or want to look up words in the dictionary panel while the game keeps running, give Playto Cloud (beta) a try — it moves translation and dictionary lookups off your machine and comes with a free trial allowance. You can switch it on from the Cloud tab in Settings.
