Guilds of Mountgate – Update v0.3.1.1

Greetings Adventurers,

v0.3.1.1 is now live!

This Steam update combines the changes from v0.3.1.0 and v0.3.1.1, with both releases primarily focused on balancing existing progression and cleaning up inconsistencies discovered as more players reach the later parts of the currently available content.

Progression & Balancing

Mining and Farming XP progression have received another balancing pass, alongside adjustments to Herbicides.

Gem Cutting has also been corrected after its resource requirements were unintentionally doubled.

We've additionally cleaned up several progression inconsistencies. Riverstone Hops now correctly appear within Survival unlocks and use the proper icon, while Daily Quests will no longer ask players for items they haven't actually unlocked yet.

Agility Gets a Little More Dangerous

Passive Agility training is no longer completely risk-free.

Depending on the activity, your character can now take damage while training Agility passively, adding another consideration when leaving your character to train for longer periods.

Production Failures Overhauled

The production Fail System has been completely reworked.

Failed crafting or processing attempts should now produce results that actually make sense for the activity rather than occasionally generating unrelated or nonsensical failed items.

This also fixes an issue where producing Attunement Powder could incorrectly result in a Ruined Extract.

Better Demo Experience

Demo players can now continue performing activities after reaching their Level Cap.

Their progression remains capped at the intended level, but reaching that limit no longer effectively prevents them from continuing to gather resources, craft items, or otherwise play the available content.

World & UI Improvements

Weather effects now fade smoothly in and out, making transitions between different conditions feel less abrupt.

Several issues around Stonebridge have also been cleaned up, including the position of the Stonebridge Brewery and the Outskirts navigation button.

Edric has also been reminded once again where he's actually supposed to go and will no longer make his unintended stop at the Mountgate Harbor Outskirts. 😄

Fixes & Quality of Life

We've fixed another issue affecting Make Camp while traveling, as well as a Storage conflict involving older items that used to be stackable in previous versions.

Several smaller progression, balancing, and Quality-of-Life issues have been addressed along the way.

Offline Crafting now processes inventory-to-storage transfers along the historical crafting timeline, allowing multiple full inventories to be handled correctly during a single long offline catch-up.

The complete patch notes for both versions are available on our website.

Thank you as always for the reports and feedback. With more players reaching the later progression ranges, we're continuing to use the resulting data to smooth out XP rates, unlocks, resource requirements, and the various systems surrounding them.

See you in Vellgar!

Originally, I was aiming to release Guilds of Mountgate into Steam Early Access on August 11 . Unfortunately, the review process and communication with Valve turned out to be considerably more complicated than exp…
