Hello everyone,

Today we're releasing Update #5 for Beyond Enemy Lines: Vietnam.

We've made a small adjustment to our roadmap. The final campaign mission needs a little more development time than originally planned, and rather than rushing it, we've decided to give it the attention it deserves.

Instead, this update focuses on several major gameplay additions that lay the foundation for the future of the game, including the first PvP mode, a completely new movement mechanic, new weapons, and numerous multiplayer improvements.

Team Deathmatch (Experimental)

Our first PvP game mode has finally arrived!

Please note that Team Deathmatch is still experimental. We're intentionally not making a big marketing push just yet. We want to make sure the gameplay feels right before presenting it to a larger audience.

That's where you come in.

Play it, break it, and tell us what you think. Your feedback will directly influence future balancing, map updates, and gameplay improvements.

Available Maps

  • Atoll

  • Factory

  • Valley

  • Bich Dong

  • Harbor

  • Rice Field

  • Radio Base

Bots Supported

All Team Deathmatch maps fully support AI bots.

Bots never replace human players. Instead, they occupy their own dedicated slots, helping populate matches while still allowing players to join at any time.

Battlefield-Inspired Class System

Multiplayer uses a class system inspired by classic Battlefield titles.

Choose between:

  • Assault

  • Medic

  • Engineer

  • Sniper

Each faction has its own unique weapon pool for every class. Unlike many modern shooters, there is no shared weapon pool between both teams. We want every faction to feel distinct and authentic.

Each class also features multiple weapons that unlock as you increase your Player Rank - the same progression used throughout Singleplayer and Co-op.

At higher ranks you'll gradually unlock selected weapons from the opposing faction, while still preserving each team's unique identity.

New Grenade Category

PvP now introduces a dedicated Grenade equipment category.

To start with, you'll have access to:

  • Frag Grenades

  • Smoke Grenades

Smoke grenades create entirely new tactical possibilities by blocking sightlines, covering advances, protecting revives, or creating distractions. Frag grenades provide powerful offensive utility during assaults and room clearing.

New Weapon - MAC-11

The arsenal has been expanded with the MAC-11, offering a lightweight, high-rate-of-fire submachine gun for aggressive close-quarters combat.

Prone Movement (Experimental)

One of the most requested features has finally arrived.

Players can now go prone (Default: Left Alt).

Besides making you a much smaller target, prone movement improves weapon handling and opens up entirely new tactical options during firefights.

Like Team Deathmatch, this feature is still experimental, and we'd like to gather community feedback before considering it final.

Current implementation includes:

  • A notification if there isn't enough room to go prone.

  • Proper leg collision that prevents clipping through walls and objects while rotating.

  • A comfort feature that automatically nudges your character away from nearby obstacles whenever enough space is available, making movement feel much smoother.

We'll continue improving the system based on your feedback.

Weapon Dropping

You can now drop your currently equipped weapon (Default: J).

Teammates can pick up your customized weapon, including all attachments you've unlocked and equipped, allowing squads to share specialized loadouts during a match.

As always, your feedback is incredibly valuable. Every report, suggestion, and discussion helps us shape Beyond Enemy Lines: Vietnam into the game our community wants it to be.

Thank you for supporting us throughout Early Access.

See you on the battlefield!
