Every two days, players receive the latest edition of the Caldora News, reporting on new events unfolding across the country.
Each newspaper presents two possible incidents, allowing the player to choose which one their airport will have to deal with for the remainder of the run. Selecting a path permanently adds its associated mechanic - such as Cargo Handling, Disease Analysis, Plane Contraband, and others - to the airport's pool of possible events, while the unchosen path returns to the pool and may appear again later!
On the back of the newspaper, players spend Upgrade Points earned by increasing their Airport Reputation to unlock permanent upgrades for the newly selected path.
These upgrades are presented as Basic, Epic, and Legendary coupons, improving the stations, tools, and machines used to solve that category of problems.
Additional one - run perks can still be purchased separately from the Handyman, allowing players to combine long - term progression with temporary builds.
