Playtest 0.1.9 keeps you in control during combat, makes retries much faster, and adds new graphics options alongside a broad performance and presentation pass.
Manage turrets during combat
- You can now open placed turret sheets, inspect targets, upgrade, Ascend, and sell while a wave is in progress.
- Selecting and placing new turrets remains exclusive to the Build phase.
- Selling now refunds half of the Gold actually invested in a turret, including placement, successful in-run upgrades, and Ascension.
- The turret sheet updates its sell value immediately after every purchase.
Faster restarts
- Restart and Try Again now let you reuse the path you built or return to Terrain and build a new one.
- Reusing a path preserves the accepted route and its obstacle layout while replaying the same map, mode, difficulty, and seed.
- Quick Restart now uses the same confirmation flow, reducing the time between attempts without taking away the option to redesign.
- Path reuse remains independent from Auto Path and preserves the fixed identity of Endless and seeded runs.
Graphics and performance
- Added a Graphics tab to Options with Off, Low, Medium, and High shadow-quality presets.
- Added an Ambient Occlusion toggle. Graphics changes apply immediately and are remembered between sessions.
- Reduced unnecessary enemy searches when turrets have no target, improving performance between groups and during lighter waves.
- Reduced repeated save-progression processing and made campaign point-of-interest refreshes more efficient.
Presentation improvements
- Overcharged turrets now display a recurring golden rune sweep for the full stored-bonus duration.
- The first Overcharge explanation now shows the exact damage and attack-rate bonuses provided by the current Hero Path.
- Added deterministic grass tufts to open Grasslands cells; paths and turret pads clear the dressing automatically.
- Refreshed animations for a range of Grasslands enemies and improved which direction enemies face around corners and under a rotated camera.
- Refined Draft card frames across all biomes, including cleaner silhouettes, hover treatment, enemy counts, and threat stars.
- Improved Hero ability prompt layering, Monster Codex threat stars, and The Path branch spacing.
Fixes
- Auto Path now replaces crossed river cells with the required route shape instead of leaving an incorrect bridge tile.
- Map transitions can now continue correctly after a scheduled boss is resolved, including when that boss leaks through to the Campfire.
- Fixed several smaller focus, targeting, terrain, export, and presentation edge cases.
