  • Combat Upgrade: The original combat system with the Threat/Counter Hint was originally intended just for the tutorial and lowest tier Raiders in the game so players could learn the mechanics. The intended combat system is introduced in this patch, the telegraph (red bar at the top) will still show the anticipated enemy threat and now shows both the effect of that threat and suggested counter in the tutorial scenario, but will only show the effect of the enemy threat in standard games. It is up to players to decide how they want to counter the intended threat with combinations of stances, fighters, util and heat all of which now show their own effects at the bottom of the window. The result of their choice is shown in the Combat Log as a FULL/PARTIAL/FAIL counter message. Repair and Overload now have a limited number of uses per combat, and are restocked automatically. Higher Tier enemies will now also produce 2-3 threats every couple rounds, so you can make the tactical choice of blocking between all or none depending on your playstyle. Timer has increased to 25 seconds to account for additional text reading or you can always disable the Timer completely.

  • New Saves are not required, though any existing Pirate Sector spawns will not have the new ship types, Pirate Sector respawns will draw from a pool that does.

  • 3 New Pirate Types are introduced, the ECM Skiff which favors targeting your weapons and has powerful counters to reduce your damage output. A flak cruiser that makes fighter attacks against it extra risky, and a Pirate Carrier with a formidable fighter wing.

  • F12 Steam Screenshot functionality added in via API. You'll hear the screenshot sound as normal and the commlog will display a confirmation message. Access your screenshots via your steam game page as normal! Now everyone start showing off your ship and CRT setups!

  • Additional translation work/corrections in Japanese.

  • Chapter 1 of Dark Deal, a novella that the games' narrative is based on is available in the Guide in the Codex, all the way from 2008.

Major update31 Aug 2026Summer Content Patch 2: New Career, Federation Capital & Mobile CitadelsHello SectorLords! I am very pleased to release Summer Content Patch 2! Because there is just so much content and new/reworked mechanics in this release, there is a very good chance of some bugs in this release, though hopefully not game-breaking and can be quickly hotfixed! I would recommend that you start a new game if your game was started before Content Patch 1, so you don't miss out on the…Major update13 Aug 2026Summer Content Patch 1!Hello SectorLords, Because there's just so much that needs to be done this month, I am splitting the content patch into two parts, with the second part being released at the end of the month. A new game will not be required for the patch at the end of the month, but is highly recommended for this patch otherwise you won't get to experience any of the new content! What's in this release: NPC Cor…Community11 Aug 2026Indepth Walkthrough VideoHey SectorLords! If the tutorial scenarios weren't enough for you to get a handle on the mechanics, or, if you're like me and just like skipping tutorial missions and going straight into the main game, well a nice YouTuber/Twitch streamer, Tacaro, has made a really indepth video explaining the various commands, systems and gameplay in the Early Access Release. If you find the content helpful, d…
