After the fall of the floating city, the Sword was lost.

Ages passed before it was found again by mortal hands.

From there, it slipped quietly through history. It passed from one owner to the next, changing hands through war, greed, betrayal, and chance. It was stolen by thieves, hoarded by monsters, traded by mercenaries, and lost again more times than anyone could remember. Few knew where it would surface next, and fewer still understood the true nature of the relic they possessed.

Eventually, even those stories faded. Once again, the Sword disappeared from the world.

Then, in the days of the Alliance, the Sword returned to the world. Some say it was by chance, others say fate. A few whisper that the Sword chose to be found. Hidden among the countless treasures hoarded by the defeated Beastlord, the divine blade emerged once more. Without hesitation, Vez’nan claimed the moment as his own. He reached for the Sword and fire answered. The blade rejected him, burning his hand before he could even grasp its hilt.

When the Sword was brought to Linirea, Magnus recognized it at once. Before him lay the lost relic of the ancient elves, a blade known only through fragments of history and legend. He had also heard what had happened when Vez’nan tried to claim it, of the fire that answered the Dark Wizard’s touch. Standing before the Sword himself, Magnus felt the same overwhelming power radiating from within it. Whatever secrets the blade concealed, Vez’nan had become aware of it too.

Both wizards became consumed by the same mystery. Magnus buried himself within the forbidden tomes of the Arcane Order, searching every forgotten record for answers. Vez’nan turned to ancient scrolls, relics plundered from Linirea over countless invasions, and knowledge long forbidden to mortal minds. Where history failed him, sorcery filled the gaps.

Two minds. Two paths. One answer.

On the very same day, perhaps even the very same hour, they uncovered the truth. The Sword carried the essence of Elynie herself. It could pierce the veil of time. Through it, the past could be changed… and the future rewritten.

From that moment on, peace was no longer possible.

The Dark Wizard had always sought absolute mastery over his own destiny. The thought that another could walk through time and undo everything he had built was unbearable. The Sword held the one power he did not possess. He would claim it. Whatever the cost.
