Short version: today's maintenance moved Crystaria onto a dedicated server, and the launch-week lag went into the ground with the old one. Longer version, because you've earned the honesty: since launch the realm had been on shared hosting — our world on someone else's crowded hardware. When you felt those slowdowns and stutters, that was rarely Crystaria working hard; it was the neighbours. We patched around it, upgraded tiers, tuned queries (some genuinely needed it — the world map really is over 100× faster now), but you can't optimise away someone else's traffic. So today we moved out entirely. What changed for you:
Everything responds. Combat, movement, panels — server answer times measured over a hundred times faster in testing.
Busy hours stay smooth. The hardware is ours alone. Nobody else's spikes are our problem anymore.
Nothing to do. Same address, same world, every character and item exactly where you left it. The client needs no update — if you're reading this, you're already playing on it.
To everyone who reported lag with times and details instead of just alt-F4ing — this move happened because of you. If anything still feels slow from here on, it's genuinely ours to fix, and we want to hear about it in Discord. The Second Age finally has the foundations it deserves. See you in the realm. — Arkius
