Crystaria has a proper beginning now. It's already live — nothing to download, the game updates on the server.
Every new adventurer now wakes on Castaway Shore with a walking stick and no class at all.
You fight with the stick. You meet a stranger at the Cairn who asks what you mean to become. You mine copper, forge it into a real weapon, seat your first Essence — free — and then take the Adventurer's Pathway to the Warden waiting at the end of it.
It's short. It exists because "you are standing on a tile, good luck" was not a beginning.
There were long stretches where you levelled up and the loot simply stopped moving. 765 new pieces of armour across 51 new tiers now sit in those gaps, written per slot and per class so each one belongs between its neighbours. A hole in the high thirties took 76 weapons, and the early game gained 77 more around level five.
Separately, 414 pieces of armour were recorded under the wrong class — gear that should have been yours refused to equip, and gear that shouldn't have been went on freely. That's corrected, and it's power-neutral: nothing gained or lost stats.
PvP brackets also scale with you now — a quarter of your own level, rather than a flat 250 that meant everybody at level 40 and nobody at level 4,000.
Thirteen Magic Schools now stand on the map with their own marker instead of spells being buried in a shop tab. All twenty main-story quests carry branching dialogue, and all 87 quest NPCs have proper artwork. There's a Roleplay chat room, and quest experience now scales to whoever claims it, so older quests are still worth doing.
On the fixes side: a death with no way back to a safehouse, corruption that charged you gold and then didn't cleanse, disbanded guilds leaving their Skyhold standing on the map, and quest givers from the Sky and the Underworld turning up on Overworld tiles offering work against creatures that don't live there. All closed.
If you bounced off the opening before, that's the part that got rebuilt. If you were caught by any of the above, you've been put right — anyone left stranded is back on the shore with every level and all progress intact.
Full notes are in-game under Patch Notes. Bug reports and questions are very welcome in Discord — the shore exists because people said the opening was rough.
