First: I'm sorry. The realm has felt laggy at peak times, and some of you had moves and attacks that simply didn't register. That's a miserable way to experience a game you just discovered, and you deserved better in your first week.
Here's what happened. Crystaria Online has run for months on the same modest hosting it grew up on. It turns out that hosting has a hard limit on simultaneous database connections — a limit I genuinely didn't know existed until you all showed up at once and we hit it. Every time the realm crossed it, someone's click quietly failed. Many many adventurers online at the same time was the most crowded this world has ever been, and I'm learning its growing pains in real time alongside you. What's already done, and what's next:
Already live: the game now rides out connection spikes instead of dropping your action, and it makes fewer background requests overall. Peak hours should already feel noticeably smoother.
Coming next: I've purchased a significantly more powerful dedicated server, and the realm moves to it shortly. The limit we kept hitting is many times higher there — this is the real fix, not a patch on the old one.
To everyone who reported the lag, screenshotted it, and kept playing anyway — thank you. A world like this only finds its limits when people actually live in it, and you're the first generation that has. Here's to never seeing that particular problem again.
