Hello Adventurers and Guildmembers!

I wanted to make a quick post today just showing all of the patch notes leading up to launch, and afterwards since release on August 7th. There have been numerous changes, fixes, additions, and improvements! I am very excited to see so many people enjoying the game!

Many of these improvements are the result of suggestions and discussions in the Discord. If you have feedback, ideas, or really think a certain Quality of Life feature would be useful, please do join and let me know. I'm in the Discord every day, and the community in there is the absolute best.

Discord: Journeybound Official Discord

If you've kept an eye on the Discord or regularly read the Update Log notes from the main menu, you will have seen these already. Be warned! Some may contain minor spoilers or hint at content later in the game.

2026-08-11
- Added a Farming option in the top-right cogwheel. "Hide Seeds Below
Plantable Quantity" will now hide any seeds that you have too few of to
plant. If you are a player that likes to collect one of every item in your
storage, this will mean a lot less scrolling to find your desired seeds for
planting.
- Adjusted the trigger requirements for The Quartermaster's Overstock quest in
F-Rank. It will now trigger when you have a full storage or when you fill
100 storage slots with items. Early game players that purchased a large
amount of storage space will now have an easier time completing this quest.
- Hotfix: Fixed a bug with the Cape Crusader achievement. Any cloaks
previously purchased from the Guild Shop will now count towards this
achievement. If you have bought all seven cloaks, you will receive both the
in-game and Steam achievement when you next load your character.2026-08-09
- Adjusted the material drop down selector in Production skills, to draw more
attention to the quick scroll bar. Several players have not noticed that you
can scroll these selectors farther down, like in Artisanry to create
jewelry. Hopefully this helps draw more attention to the options farther
down.
- Fixed a visual bug that made it appear the player could change potions and
food during combat. Food and potions can only be changed while out of
combat, or while in safe zones during dungeon runs.
- Improved the hover tooltips on the Queue slots. They will now show an ETA
for the specific slot, and an ETA to complete the full queue. These numbers
are dynamic, and calculate the time looking forward. If you have it set to
fish 100 times, then set your cooking to infinite, it will calculate the
time it will take after completing the fishing.
- Adjusted the seed selectors in Farming. If you have seeds, but not enough
to plant them, they will now show in the selector anyway. It will show the
seed name, with a message of how many are needed for planting.

====== Pre-Release Patch Notes Below ======

2026-08-06 (Final Pre-Release Patch)
- Added the A-Rank Challenge Dungeon, with its full set of rewards. That
means another song, UI theme, set of abilities, and several pieces of
gear! This is now the most demanding fight in the game, with its own
special twist!
- Toggling between yourself and your companion on a skill panel will now
dynamically display the proper time and xp per action. Reminder that
companions do not use your buffs, brews, tools, and other bonuses.
- Added a few additional hints to the Quest Codex.
- Several small bug fixes.2026-08-05
- Added 62 in-game achievements to the Steam achievements list. If you
receive a large number of Steam achievements on your next log in, this is
why! They are achievements you've already completed in game.
- Added proper art to those same 62 achievements in-game, replacing the
placeholder trophies in the Achievements panel. Every achievement will have
icons once I'm able to add more than 100 achievements on Steam, post-launch.2026-08-04
- Added the new B-Rank Challenge Dungeon, with another unlockable set of
abilities, music, items, and theme!
- Second batch of improved icons are now live.
- The Maximize button now maximizes the game window (screen filling, taskbar
still visible) instead of entering Full Screen. A new toggle in
Settings - Display lets you pick which one the button does, and Maximized
is also available as a display mode alongside Windowed and Full Screen.2026-07-31
- Added a warning on the sell menu when attempting to sell an item that is
part of your loadout(s).
- Added an action count to your gathering Companions, matching how action
counts are displayed on processing Companions.
- Added the ability to bind navigation shortcuts to your keyboard F-Keys
in the Settings panel.
- Added a Buy X feature to the Town Shop, with additional visual feedback
when purchasing items.
- Added a hover tooltip to the queue, informing players there is a
shift+click shortcut to add an action to the first available slot.
- Added additional QoL to the Task Board. Clicking the Task's icon will now
take you to the related skill's panel. Note: It does not take you to the
sub-tab or dropdown category. It will open to the last section of the
skill panel you had open.
- Minor UI improvements and adjustments.2026-07-30
- Small bug fix for how unlockable themes appear in the Settings panel.
- Added additional unlocks in the Rank-A/S Guild Shop.
- Buff pass on Artifacts, bringing several different Artifacts to appropriate
power levels, as they were lagging behind some of the more recently added
items.2026-07-29
- Added a loadout system to the Sanctum. Much like equipment, you now have
three loadouts to utilize from the start, also renameable by clicking on
the loadout names!
- Added auto-collapse functionality to the XP Matrix panel. This can be
toggled through the cogwheel button on the top right.
- Minor adjustments to the total level requirements for the last three rank
promotions.
- Dungeons in the Bestiary now show all details by default, no longer
requiring kills to unlock details. You can expand the enemy cards to see
their stats and abilities in full, to plan ahead before entering. Zones
still require detail unlocks.
- Farming animals now have a maximum number of item collections before they
grow too old, and must be butchered. This has been bundled with a wider xp
balance pass across farming, to account for the power of recently added
endgame tools.
- Improved the Farming panel's seed reference and animal reference sheets.
- Added a new early game food item to be made with wheat.
- First batch of improved icons are now live. There will be some additional
tweaks to these over the next day or two.
- Added the new C-Rank Challenge Dungeon. B/A/S are all on track to have their
Challenge Dungeons before release!
- Balance changes to several end-game item tiers.
- Added a short cooldown to healing potions, to ensure they're an auxiliary
healing method alongside your food supply. You'll need food to help handle
those big hits or heavy pressure moments!
- Added max health as a stat to the Guild Shop trinkets, scaling
appropriately.2026-07-27
- Added a total of 73 new achievements in-game. There are 16 new tiered
achievement chains and 25 additional single tier achievements. Good luck!
- Completely overhauled the Achievements tab UI. Now you can easily see which
ones have an associated Steam achievement by looking for the Steam
achievement icons next to them. They will also display the date unlocked.
Many more achievements coming soon!
- Small UI improvements & tweaks.
- Improved how NPCs appear in the Tavern, displaying the quest names for each
appearance beneath the NPC's name.2026-07-26
- Added 32 additional mid-game tools to craft. You should now always have base
tool upgrades as you level through mid-game, beyond the rare tools you can
find or unlock.
- Adjusted Tier 2+ Keep Upgrade costs to ensure these are proper, optional
stretch goals
- Adjusted the Rare Drop tables for all four gathering skills. Many secondary
drops have now been moved onto the Rare tables, making tool rarity bonuses
much more relevant.
- Capped early game Sanctum bonus items. Their Sanctum XP bonus will now only
work at <70 Sanctum. They can still be offered for normal offering xp
amounts at level 70 and above. This will make additional sense as you
progress the story.
- Levelling Farming was simply too fast. Added an XP modifier to enabling
automation, with tooltips. It is still a huge net positive to run Farming
with automation! Manual Farming for full XP is still possible by toggling
these off.
- Adjusted the drop rates for Saplings from Grovecraft to be properly rare.
Saplings now give 2.5x the materials (not XP) when grown and harvested to
compensate.
- Minor UI improvements, and a UI bug fix for full-screen mode.2026-07-25
- Added a new D-Rank Challenge Dungeon. These have some very special rewards to
be discovered. Ranks D/C/B/A/S will all have a Challenge Dungeon before
Release Date!
- Fixed the Overgrowth Quest to only count additional kills after the quest is
triggered.
- Added clarification to the quest log when a quest step requires you to visit
the Tavern.2026-07-24
- Added an XP Matrix to the sidebar, for players who enjoy calculating exactly
what they will need ahead of time.
- Fixed an unusual bug where OBS was not capturing all dropdown windows and UI
elements on game/window recording.
- Fixed Fletcher's Remembrance in the E-Rank Guild Shop: players who previously
tried to buy it will find the item in their storage, along with 2,000 gold to
compensate for the loss.2026-07-23
- Improved late game Tidecraft and Wyldcraft, adding several new rare drops.
- Reworked the Sell system: choose an item and quantity in the new Sell window,
and see the total gold before you confirm the sale.
- Added a Sell button to the Town Shop that opens your Storage in Sell mode.
- Gold from sales now pops up beside the gold counter as it comes in.
- Fixed selection windows sometimes appearing in the wrong place on screen.
