Rangerās Path: National Park Simulator Ā· published
This update brings you closer to the wildlife of Faremont with new animal species, new ways to interact with animals, new ranger tools, and a variety of additional callouts. Your day-to-day work in the park just got even wilder.
Before we dive in, check out the release trailer:
With Content Update 2, wildlife now plays a bigger role in your ranger duties. The new Animal Interaction System allows you to do more than observe animals from a distance. You can now help injured wildlife, free animals caught in traps, and take part in important tracking tasks across the park.
To support these new duties, Update 2 introduces two new tools: the tranquilizer gun and the VHF receiver. The tranquilizer gun allows you to sedate injured or trapped animals from a safe distance, so you can examine, treat, or free them without putting yourself in danger. The VHF receiver helps you track animals fitted with GPS transmitters, making wildlife monitoring an even more hands-on part of your work as a ranger.
Three new animal species have made their way into Faremont with Update 2.
The mighty bison has joined the park as a true American icon, offering an impressive new sight for visitors and rangers alike. Feral hogs can now be found roaming the forests, adding even more life to Faremontās wilder areas. And if you are lucky, you might spot the elusive bobcat somewhere across the hills and mountain slopes of the park.
Keep your eyes open, rangers. Some encounters may be easier to find than others.
Content Update 2 introduces a variety of new callouts and dynamic events, adding more variety to your daily ranger routine.
Reports of traps found in certain areas have reached ranger HQ. Your task is to locate and dismantle them before they become a danger to visitors or wildlife.
Sometimes, the worst has already happened. An animal has been caught in a trap and needs your help immediately. Track it down, tranquilize it with your tranquilizer gun, and set it free.
Hikers have reported injured wild animals in the park. Find the animal, sedate it safely, and examine and treat its injuries.
Some animals in Faremont are part of wildlife studies and have been fitted with GPS transmitters. Use your VHF receiver to locate the animal, sedate it, and remove the device to gather data.
Animal care is not the only new responsibility in Update 2. Faremontās plant life also needs your attention.
Invasive plant species threaten the parkās ecosystem. With the new root puller, you can remove them whenever and wherever you find them.
Some areas of the park are ready to be restored with new vegetation. Collect seedlings of flora native to Faremont and plant them in designated spots across the map. Donāt forget to check back every now and then to watch your new plants grow!
Ā Of course, keeping Faremont clean, safe, and peaceful also means dealing with visitors who do not always follow the rules.
Some camper groups leave campsites in a rough state. Document the damage with your camera, deal with those responsible at your own discretion, and close the campsite until you have repaired the damage, cleaned up the trash, and restored the area.
Some visitors bring a little too much noise into the wild. If loud music becomes a nuisance to other visitors or wildlife, it is your duty to find the source and restore some peace and quiet.
Even with designated waste disposal points available throughout the park, some visitors still leave trash behind. Remind them that littering not only violates park rules, but can also become a danger to wildlife and to themselves.
Alongside the new animals, tools, callouts, and wildlife interactions, Update 2 also includes a range of additional fixes and quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.
One highly requested addition is the new hop ability. While Rangerās Path is not suddenly turning into a full platforming adventure, you can now perform a small hop to make movement through Faremont feel a little smoother and more responsive.
Weāve also worked on various smaller improvements, fixes, and adjustments across the game to make your ranger duties feel better while exploring the park, completing callouts, and keeping Faremont safe for visitors and wildlife.
