Hello Doompreneurs,
One of the major things we've heard from playtesters was that the world should feel more alive. Considering we're making an open-world sandbox game, this was already part of our plans, but after hearing this request from so many of you, we've treated it as our highest priority, and that's what this major update is all about!
Bear in mind that we've added A LOT of new stuff to the game, so your feedback on this version will be extremely important. It will help us fix bugs and come up with more improvements to the new systems.
We've been having a lot of fun with the new mechanics, and we hope you do too! We can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Added more life to the world with new zombies, NPCs, pedestrians and guards.
You can fight other survivors: some escape and some fight back! Expect melee or weapon combat.
Guards respond when you start wrecking havoc in the settlement. Armed guards and Elite Guards come if you do enough damage.
NPCs can drop loot.
Added reload weapon mechanic.
Added car headlights for better night visibility.
Added the confiscated items quest: if guards take you down, your stuff can be recovered through the lawyer.
Improved NPC pathfinding, obstacle avoidance, stairs navigation, sleeping/wandering behavior, and overall NPC robustness.
Improved settlement gates, guard towers, waypoints, collision, minimap blips, and world text visuals.
Have fun!
Cheers,
Dan and Tiago
