Sup guys, this month we spent a shit-ton of time rebalancing the gameplay, progression, and implementing a real difficulty system. While it's not perfect and still needs a lot of love, it's at least a little closer to where we want it to be and hopefully makes a little more sense to you too...
Playing on Flipflop you'll get awarded the most XP for minimum effort harvests, sales and samples, and get a way lower leveling curve. On Gigachad, however, you're gonna wish you brought some lube.
Street and shop sales prices, customer max-pend caps and cooldowns are now tied to difficulty. Playing on Flipflop difficulty will give you more bang for you buck and less downtime, while Gigachad mode will keep your lazy ass broke forever.
Once again, Flipflop will get you better harvest quality/potency and yield even without any growing gear. Water & lighting will affect the quality/yield negatively at lower thresholds, also plants will be more resilient to stress. Temperature and humidity swings will have less effect on mite/mold risk. As for Gigachad, imagine the opposite of the above.
Getting stoned is now easier across the board, but playing on Flipflop will make you zooted in no time. While we're planning on hooking up more systems to the stoned levels, currently being just a little high will allow you to see your customers' weed and merch needs before you waste your crappy doobies on them.
Growing in the Dildo Pad will get you more light during the day but less protection from the elements, meaning weather changes will more directly affect your plants' stress & mite/mold risk. While growing in the Nut Milk Factory will be nearly impossible without lights, but temperature and humidity will be more stable. Lower-tier seeds have lower light requirements, which will make it easier to grow them even at night. When light requirements aren't met, plants will grow more slowly, and harvested yield will suffer.
Lights & Fans have been reworked from the ground up to be proximity-based and actually do shit. Lights now provide your plants light plus a small yield and quality boost. Fans act as mite & mold repellants by reducing mold and mite risk, as well as slowing down the spread of an existing infection. We've also implemented a utility visualizer to help you tell how much your plants are being affected by your existing gear.
Smart TVs - While not exactly a new addition, now they play YouTube & Twitch streams, allow account logins, and are 2-way replicated, meaning if your buddy fast forwards a playing Youtube vid or decides to watch some corn, you won't be left behind.
JankBox - Add your own mp3/wav files to the JankBox folder and play your own music in-game, stream online radio by copy-pasting the link, or listen to the included Giga Chad playlist. Local files are not replicated in co-op... sorry ːws_smileyfaceː
New Furniture & Decorations - The Amazin't catalog has been expanded to 20+ items to make your shop your own. Shop signage has also been fixed, though it still doesn't work well if your shop's name is a whole sentence.
Fixed inventory drops and pickups for clients as well as added stacked harvest and seed drops.
Fixed the autodeleting skateboard and host foot positioning while riding in co-op.
Fixed doors not opening for clients.
Fixed characters entering "The Flash" mode when joining an active session.
Fixed pumps not working after placing them and after moving pots.
Fixed devices auto-turning on on load.
Fixed a bunch of textures and general world fuckups.
Made minor UI and QOL improvements.
Assuming this patch doesn't leave us fixing new bugs for weeks, we'll be working on finishing the item durability system, adding paintable furniture/decorations/lights, and maybe even bringing back Mr Person. We're also working on a new promo system, adding in-town grow locations, implementing nutrients/boosters, and grow setups. Once that's in and semi-functioning, we'll be replacing the bullshit tasks/missions with legit progression-based ones so you actually got something to work towards.
So yeah, that's about it, stay tuned ːws_damanː
