Hey hey hey, so some of you who are still following this trainwreck might be wondering what happened to the monthly updates.... Well, a fucking reload crash resurfaced on the eve of the release of the last month's patch, and we've spent almost 3 weeks trying to fix it, plus a week sitting on a toilet in Nam (not necessarily in that order) till we finally got it sorted out and ready for the main branch, So here it is in all its glory: last month's monthly patch ːws_damanː
- Added Starter and Advanced Rolling Tables. Load them with flower, papers, and a grinder, then physically grind, pour, roll, and collect the finished joints.
- Hand-rolled and table-rolled joints now preserve their Indica, Sativa, or Hybrid identity. Incompatible strains cannot be mixed into the same loaded papers.
- Added Janky, Legit, and Bougie Joint Dispensers. Stock them with joints and nearby stoners will provide an additional passive revenue stream.
- The trash guy now replenishes some of his cash daily, allowing you to sell more of your old crap more often.
- Added new shop counters and displays with switchable Counter, Display, and Closed modes, giving you more control over how customers use each spot.
- Added six late-game Sleek (and paintable) counters and displays as well as a sleek Jukebox.
- Added six paintable and neon light shits.
- Added 3-slot, 6-slot, and 9-slot battery racks.
- Added the Kush Harvest Cabinet, Chronic Wall Cache, and wall-mounted Bamboo Storage Cabinet for larger storage needs.
- Mr Person is back for all your spray-paint needs.
- Added paid refill stations and free solar charging docks in town.
Burner: Rebuilt task browsing with clearer objectives, progress, and rewards. Actual new tasks are coming to beta in a week, and main in #3.5 tho.
DaPlug: Rebuilt shopping, checkout, deliveries, and order tracking with clearer categories and product information. Larger orders are supported, closer delivery locations are chosen automatically, and anything that does not fit during pickup remains safely in the package.
The Spot: Rebuilt property browsing and management so locations are easier to compare, unlock, rename, manage, and customize, with their inventory, growing conditions, and utilities shown in one place.
TrustMeBro: Rebuilt the stat guide as a searchable gameplay reference with clearer explanations, filters, related stats, and context about where each stat matters.
Get Lost: Rebuilt navigation with a larger map, useful filters, persistent waypoints, Lost & Found recovery, and live markers for important vendors and task NPCs.
- Rebuilt the co-op browser and in-game party roster.
- Public and friends-only sessions are now found more reliably.
- Added a searchable Friends list that updates when friends start playing Highland or change status.
- You can join a friend's active session or send them a direct Steam invite from Highland.
- Accepting Join Game through Steam now takes you directly into the invited session. This also works when Highland is closed, and Steam launches the game for you.
- Session details now accurately show the host's in-game level, session time, player count, and available ping.
- Added disconnect inventory protection for remote co-op players.
- Reconnecting within ten gameplay minutes restores the disconnected player's inventory once.
- If the player does not return in time, the inventory moves to the host world's Lost & Found instead of disappearing or duplicating.
- Fixed several co-op item-loss, duplicate-removal, movement, and replicated-audio problems.
- Improved client-side interact HUD responsiveness and fixed most of the deadlocking glitches.
- Customers walking sideways/backwards at a distance should also be fixed or at least a little less prominent.
- Save slots now show the map, level, XP, playtime, save time, and a real screenshot.
- Added new small and medium Grow Rooms in town with more optimal grow environments.
- Added nine Grow Room upgrades covering walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Added air quality as a real growing condition. Customer traffic can lower shop air quality, and poor air gradually reduces crop quality.
- Grow lights and fans provide more predictable coverage across the room.
- Rain now stays outside instead of falling through supported roofs and shop interiors.
- Fixed natural rain occasionally failing to resume correctly after a weather change.
- Added a DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 Rendering Mode option.
- Added an independent Weather Effects quality setting.
- Added Light Optimization Strength, letting players choose between the original lighting, more generous optimized lighting, the new balanced default, or disabling the optimizer entirely.
- Improved shader and pipeline warmup during loading.
- Reduced unnecessary work from distant city objects, NPCs, vegetation, grow visualizers, and repeated spatial queries.
- Improved live View Distance changes and the fading of distant instanced objects.
- Fixed Co-op skateboard mount/dismount desync + crash.
- Resolved a broad family of crashes affecting packaged gameplay, ray tracing, physics, and repeated world reloads.
- The most persistent issue could crash on the second or third reload and appear to come from many unrelated systems. The actual memory-corruption source was identified and corrected across every confirmed location.
- Equipped items that cannot return to a full inventory now drop safely into the world instead of being lost.
- Consumed joints no longer return after saving during their removal window.
- Sprint now toggles between walking and running, and standing still no longer drains sprint stamina.
- Fixed the tutorial boat occasionally spinning or spawning beneath the dock.
- Improved placement recovery when leaving or re-entering invalid building areas.
- Improved utility, refill, rolling-table, shop-display, lighting, and interaction reliability across single-player and co-op.
While this patch is kinda light on content, especially if you've been chilling on the beta branch, now that the main runtime issues have been worked out, we'll try to bust out the promised stuff to main a little bit quicker. Need to catch up to our monthly roadmap somehow...
Stay tuned ːws_peaceː
