Build 0.745 Patch Notes
Build 0.745 focuses on expedition flexibility, party movement, hunting behavior, pet stability, inventory responsiveness, and safer background saving.
Expedition Scaling
- Open expeditions now update their party-size difficulty automatically when your active party changes.
- You no longer need to close and reopen a portal after recruiting, moving someone to reserves, or losing a recruit.
- Enemy health, damage, and additional-enemy scaling now follow the party that actually enters the expedition.
- When your party shrinks, excess party-size enemies are safely suppressed. Enemies already engaged in combat can finish the encounter first.
- When your party grows again, the same eligible enemies return without rerolling the expedition.
- Challenge modifiers, expedition identity, map layout, and portal rolls remain unchanged.
- Pinnacle boss scaling now also follows the current active party size.
Expedition Levels
- Expedition levels can now be selected from Level 1 through your main character’s level +10.
- High-level characters may freely return to low-level expeditions.
- Level fields support direct numeric entry, so high-level players do not need to click through hundreds or thousands of values.
- Your chosen minimum and maximum levels remain selected while browsing different expeditions.
Party Movement and Hunting
- Party members now retain claimed gathering and loot objectives instead of abandoning them during routine command updates.
- Companions supporting another party member’s activity now reach their chosen position and remain there briefly instead of constantly selecting new positions.
- Bridge movement keeps the party’s shared direction and column behavior more consistently.
- Hunters now commit to a valid firing position instead of repeatedly changing destinations as wildlife moves.
- Hunters plant and fire once they reach a legal station, greatly reducing back-and-forth movement during hunts.
- Navigation and placement around difficult scenery received additional repairs.
- A problematic area in Vaelari Tide Courts was corrected without changing enemy or resource totals.
- Party travel, gathering, skinning, looting, hunting, combat, care, and revival behavior were checked across all eight expeditions.
Animation and Combat Stability
- Added directional stability to characters, enemies, wildlife, and pets.
- Sprites no longer rapidly switch between directional animations when moving near a diagonal angle.
- Direction changes preserve animation progress instead of repeatedly restarting the current action.
- Dense melee combatants continue attacking while resolving body overlap.
- Small separation movements no longer make enemies or wildlife visually snap away from their actual attack or escape direction.
- Party members remain physically present and solid; this improves presentation and combat continuity without removing collision.
Pet Behavior
- Pets now display idle animations when they are physically stationary instead of running in place.
- Pet wandering stays closer to the party.
- Pets use separate catch-up and rejoin distances, reducing repeated switching between wandering and chasing.
- A pet that falls behind remains committed to catching up until it has properly rejoined.
- Pets can continue choosing natural loitering behavior when no loot is available.
- Existing pet speed bonuses, pickup behavior, experience, and saved progress remain unchanged.
Inventory Responsiveness
- Equipment, books, runes, and pets are now tracked by their exact item identity during inventory refreshes.
- Clicking or dragging an item remains attached to that item if sorting or a save-driven refresh changes its inventory position.
- This reduces false “inventory changed” refusals and prevents a refreshed position from targeting a different item.
- Stack actions are also recovered when the intended stack can be identified safely.
- Ambiguous destructive actions still refuse rather than risking the wrong item.
Saving
- Routine autosaves now work from a stable campaign snapshot instead of reading the actively changing campaign during the save.
- Gameplay changes made while a save is finishing are captured by a bounded follow-up save when needed.
- Party, Menu, Return to Town, and ordinary inventory interactions remain available during routine background saves.
- Save completion is coordinated to prevent overlapping writers.
- Existing recovery copies and atomic save replacement remain protected.
- Existing campaigns migrate automatically to the updated save format.
Progression and Balance
- Veteran’s Lesson now has a maximum rank of 10.
- Older saves with ranks above 10 are corrected automatically.
- Hero XP and Skill XP enchantments may naturally appear only on head equipment.
- XP enchantments can no longer be added through Enchanting.
- Equipment already carrying an XP enchantment cannot be used as an Enchanting target.
- Disenchanting older XP equipment still teaches its enchantments normally.
- Older non-head equipment with an invalid XP enchantment is repaired during loading without deleting the item or changing its identity.
- All damage-over-time effects, including Poison, Bleeding, and Burning, are now capped at three stacks.
- Older saves containing more than three stacks are corrected automatically.
Pause Behavior
- Opening Party Management or the expedition Menu now fully pauses party speech presentation.
- Existing speech bubbles are cleared while paused.
- New ambient comments do not appear behind menus.
- Speech timing resumes normally after closing the menu instead of replaying queued dialogue.
Additional Fixes
- Reapplying party-size scaling no longer moves valid enemy spawn positions.
- Existing enemy health percentages are preserved when party-size scaling changes their maximum health.
- Expedition modifier enemies remain independent from party-size population changes.
- Improved travel diagnostics helped identify and repair movement that looked active but was not accomplishing useful work.
- Multiple outdated internal checks were refreshed to cover the current eight-expedition, four-Pinnacle, 84-enemy game rather than older content totals.
Build 0.745 remains compatible with existing campaigns and includes automatic migration for the progression, status, expedition-scaling, and item-affix changes above.
