Builds 0.759–0.760: Grand Pinnacle and Combat Improvements
This update introduces Grand Pinnacle: The Eight Gates, adds more variety to expedition starts, expands Player Town previews, and delivers a substantial round of ability, projectile, and save-system fixes.
Grand Pinnacle
- Added Grand Pinnacle: The Eight Gates, a new level-200 encounter in its own purpose-built arena.
- Face all eight existing Pinnacle bosses one after another, entering through their matching gates with their own abilities, phases, and reinforcements.
- Added a hovering Conductor host, opening and closing story dialogue, and new lore progression.
- Eight animated braziers ignite during the introduction. Each goes dark when its corresponding boss is defeated, providing a visible record of your progress.
- Receive one free first attempt and one Grand Key by Mail at level 200. Qualifying existing characters receive the milestone reward too.
- Guardian Pinnacle Key drops now have a 10% chance to upgrade into a Grand Key. The separate 30% Ascendant Key chance remains unchanged.
- Added G.Keys to High Anchorage’s key counters. Grand Keys cannot be sold or destroyed.
- Each boss drops five items from its own themed equipment pool, plus its usual 25% chance at a signature Legendary. Complete all eight for the final Grand chest.
- Opening the final chest starts the 30-second collection countdown. Unclaimed encounter loot is sent to Mail when the run ends.
- Added new arena textures, gate and chest presentation, host animations, Bestiary coverage, and an updated Grand Pinnacle illustration matching the other Pinnacle cards.
Expedition Variety
- All eight expeditions now have three possible starting locations. A location is selected when you open a new expedition; returning to or loading that same expedition does not reroll its starting point.
- Included the revised Glassmoon starting-location placement.
- Added three small lava pools to the Korr expedition, with visible banks, blocked lava interiors, and navigable routes around them.
- Preserved Korr’s existing gorge, bridge, roads, and authored locations while integrating the new pools.
Player Town
- Barracks upgrades now provide rolled recruit bonuses for additional attributes, proficiency points, and starting ability levels.
- Completed upgrades set the maximum roll, while the minimum rises once per ten upgrades: 10 upgrades roll 1–10, 20 roll 2–20, and 30 roll 3–30.
- Recruit previews show the actual rolled bonuses and ability levels. Hiring applies the previewed result; reopening menus or reloading does not reroll an offer. Already-hired recruits keep their bonuses.
- Once Player Town is unlocked, all four service tabs can be opened to preview their content, even before that individual service is available.
- Locked service pages show their actual requirements, including the relevant NPC and expedition, required level where applicable, establishment price, and required materials with available inventory/stash totals.
- Centered and restyled the Town Services heading in High Anchorage for clearer navigation.
Combat and Abilities
- Fixed summon-applied damage over time leaving an enemy alive at zero health after the summon disappeared. Defeats now finalize correctly, including after save/load.
- Fixed enemy volleys applying inconsistent per-cast hit limits to characters and summons. Enemy basic projectile patterns and damage budgets now follow the same rules for both.
- Enemy melee attacks now check reach when the attack completes, preventing hits against targets that have moved out of range.
- Single-target healing, barrier, cleansing, revival, and projectile casts now recheck the relevant target, range, and line of sight when casting completes.
- Health damage from summons and damage-over-time effects now contributes correctly to channel interruption. Damage absorbed entirely by a barrier is not treated as lost health.
- Fixed projectile-ability training being awarded merely for launching, duplicated by multiple arrows, or missed when a later arrow was the one that connected.
- Successful mixed-school projectiles now credit the appropriate contributing schools. Piercing, chaining, and save/load no longer duplicate the repaired training awards.
- Corrected projectile miss handling and defense checks when another actor intercepts a shot.
- Harmonic Relay now applies its effect after its intended casting windup instead of immediately.
- Fixed effect-tag mix-ups that could let one part of a multi-effect ability borrow unrelated properties from another part.
Effects and Tooltips
- Fixed missing hostile projectile impacts when characters or summons were hit.
- Corrected gun muzzle-flash direction and the orientation of impacts that reuse projectile artwork.
- Removed stray guide-line pixels from pistol muzzle flashes while preserving the existing animation.
- Corrected inflated high-rank duration previews for abilities including Renewing Chorus and Iron Canticle, and clarified flat regeneration versus percentage-based regeneration bonuses.
Saves and Performance
- Improved save/load handling for active Grand encounters, delayed summon damage, shared projectile hit history, and once-per-cast training awards.
- Fixed Grand terrain import and loading issues that could prevent a saved encounter from opening.
- Fixed a stale Leadership bonus after protected Pinnacle retreat or defeat that could produce different maximum health after reloading.
- Optimized Grand arena textures, animated scenery, and repeated visual updates while preserving the approved artwork and encounter behavior.
- Updated relevant regression tests and checked the exported game against both ordinary expedition and Grand Pinnacle saves.
Map Updates and Demo
- When an update changes an expedition or Pinnacle map, the old instance now closes cleanly instead of retaining an obsolete terrain version. Campaign progress and carried items are preserved.
- Unfinished Pinnacle attempts closed by a map update refund the spent key through Mail or restore that attempt’s free entry.
- Collect ground loot before updating: loot left on a replaced expedition map does not carry over to its replacement.
- The demo has been updated alongside the full game and retains its level-25 limit. Demo saves continue in the full game without conversion.
