Graveyard Shift enters Early Access November 2

The gate opens November 2.

Aldric was a Battle Sage once. Now he runs the night shift at the morgue, and the dead do not stay on the table. Every body that comes through the door is a card for his deck — a blade, a poison, a ward, a memory — and every night something walks in from the graveyard to take it back.

Graveyard Shift: A Sage's Last Stand launches into Early Access on November 2, 2026, at 15% off for launch week. The free demo is on Steam right now, and it is the real first week — not a slice.

What you are walking into

  • A WORKING WEEK — Monday to Friday on the shift, the boss comes Friday, and the weekend is yours: a market, a parcel of cards paid by the week's score, and the intake desk that sets up the next one. Three weeks of work. The fourth is war.
  • EVERY CORPSE IS A CARD — process what the night leaves you. 130+ cards across six families, 67 combos to discover, six star ranks on every one of them, and Legendaries that change what a deck is for.
  • THE DEAD PUSH BACK — mobs with resistances, signatures and tells. In the fourth week they come in lines: a healer behind the front, a caster drawing the cold, and a sweep that has to fell all three.
  • THE MASTERS' TREE AND THE LEDGER — two masters guard the end of the month. Fell them and their Marks buy a permanent tree; grow it and a chained book opens under the intake desk with boons to buy and debts to sign. A debt makes the next run harder and pays for it in score.
  • A NIGHT THAT READS ITSELF — the Iron Console logs every roll, every tick and every combo as it happens, so nothing that hits you is a mystery. Tooltips tell the truth at every rank.
  • BUILT FOR YOUR SCREEN AND YOUR HANDS — widescreen and ultrawide, mouse or controller from the first screen to the last, with a Tutorial book that opens a page the first time you meet each thing.

Why Early Access

The month is built and it has been beaten — by testers who cleared all four weeks, more than once, and came back for the score. What Early Access is for is the part that needs you: the balance you find that we did not, the cards that want a second rank, the creature that needs a tell, the combo you thought should exist. We ship fast — the changelog has 284 entries from August alone — and every report gets an answer in the next build.

What we are building toward during Early Access: new creatures and cards, a prestige layer for players who have cleared the month, and more ways to replay it.

Until then

  • Play the demo — the real first week, saves carry into the full game.
  • Wishlist the game so Steam tells you the moment the gate opens.
  • Tell us what killed you. It is how the game got this far.

Every number in this post is the one in the build. See you on the shift.

Major update10 Sep 2026The Wax Seal (v0.44)Version 0.44.1 BETA — and everything since 0.41.0. Ten shifts have been filed since the last post: twenty-four new things and a hundred and forty-one fixes. Most of that is the game finally looking like one place instead of a drawn approximation of one. Every scene stands on a painted backdrop now — the morgue, the intake and tally screens, the weekend, the Masters' Tree, both week-four yards a…Major update3 Sep 2026The Weekly Shift (v0.41)Version 0.41.0 BETA — and everything since 0.38.1. Eleven days, twenty-three builds, 62 new things and 188 fixes, most of them from the notes you sent through the ! BUG button. The big one is a new way to play the month: every Monday the yard posts one contract for everyone, and a board to go with it. Under it, the intake got smaller and sharper, the leaderboard learned to show what a run was a…Major update22 Aug 2026The Dead Push Back (v0.38)Version 0.38.1 BETA — and everything since 0.36.0 Two things changed since the last post, and they pull against each other on purpose. The run got a shape: five nights a week, Monday to Friday, a boss on Friday, and a weekend the week's score pays for. And the dead got smarter about it. They resist what you throw. They bring a healer. They stand in a line and make you choose who dies first. A m…
