Hello everyone!
The time has finally come: ORBA is officially releaseing September 13th and the leaderboard is yearning for your scores! But the game wouldn't be what it is today without the feedback of our valued demo players. This is why we want to take the time and review what changes we made based on your feedback.
@ThePiPiper, @Magis
One of the most asked for features was the ability to remap the controls - which is certainly understandable as ORBA both has a unique default input scheme and relies on tight, reliable controls at the same time. This is why, ultimately, there was no way around this for us ;)
Now you can remap the controls to your liking, whether you rather want to move with the arrow buttons instead of WASD or the D-Pad instead of the left stick. Optimize your inputs and climb the leaderboard!
In ORBA, there is very little room for you to breathe. The little breaks between your runs at the base of the tower are your only refuge. What it was missing is a place to not only rest from the constant pressure of the climb, but also practice the controls, lucky charm abilities and various obstacles of the tower.
This is why we introduced the Dojo! Here you can play with an Orb in a tower-like setup without any time pressure. You can also set a fixed lucky charm ability to test out. And if you explore the Dojo thoroughly, you might find a few surprises!
To make competition in ORBA even fiercer, you can now toggle the leaderboard to view individual trials alongside your total score! Use the new leaderboard toggle to compare against trial specific times, hunt down individual records, and refine your runs trial by trial.
We've made several improvements to the "Stats" page in the encyclopedia: First of all, you are now able to review your total best score and best total time. You can also review your best time for each trial separately.
Additionally we've changed the way the stats (behind the "Stats" button") are tracked. Previously you would see your personal best stat in each category (e. g. most abilities used in a single run or best accuracy). Now these stats will track your entire game's progress, accumulating how many times you have hit the orb, used an ability or taken damage from spikes. This way you can get a better sense of what you have already achieved when looking back!
Your feedback made a real difference in shaping ORBA, and we feel great about finally launching the full game. A sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to play the demo and send us their thoughts!
Now it's time to dive in, push your limits, and claim your spot on the leaderboard. See you in the tower!
Kind regards,
Jan
