It’s finally here – and even a little earlier than originally planned: After many weeks of development, extensive testing, and final polishing, we can release Update 10 today, August 12th, 2026!
The release was originally scheduled for Thursday, August 13th, 2026. However, since the final approval phase was completed much faster than expected, we don’t want to keep you waiting another day and are making the update available today.
With Update 10, you can expect one of the biggest free updates SubwaySim 2 has received so far. Alongside numerous bug fixes and optimizations, the update introduces many new features, improvements to overall game stability, and a wide range of smaller enhancements.
Our main focus during development was to further improve the overall gameplay experience. Many of the changes are based directly on your feedback and requests from the community – including new gameplay options, numerous quality-of-life improvements, and features that many of you have been waiting for.
Below, you’ll find an overview of everything Update 10 has to offer.
Fixed crashes caused by incompatible .pak files
Incompatible mods are now detected during startup, and the game will notify you before automatically skipping them to prevent crashes
Further improvements to overall game stability
Improved performance, especially on the Berlin map
Console only: Fixed random crashes on the Berlin map.
Lighting system fixes (brightness / contrast)
Passengers will now occasionally run toward arriving trains or walk faster depending on the situation
Increased spawn preparation time in Career Mode to reduce delays at the beginning of a service
No more fade-out/fade-in transitions when seamless timetable transitions are enabled
Tasks can now be completely disabled (except mandatory tasks such as "Stop at platform XY")
Gameplay settings have been reorganized for improved clarity
Several new settings have been added:
AI trains can now be completely disabled
The number of AI pedestrians can now be increased significantly (may impact performance)
The in-game HUD is now fully modular and can be customized
Spawn time before departure in Timetable Mode can now be set between 1 and 5 minutes
Console only: New crash log menu under System Settings, allowing players to provide us with better crash information for faster support
Switch crossing sounds added to all vehicles
Functional door close buttons added to all vehicles
Brake squeal is now audible when driving player-controlled trains
Fixed several incorrect door status indications
The scenario "After the Storm" can now be completed again
Updated HK sound set
Adjusted HK driving and braking behavior
Revised HK MMS displays
HK AFB buttons now feature separate sounds for pressing and releasing
HK prototypes now have unique sounds, including different door sounds and departure signals
Audio improvements for the A3L92
Audio improvements for the GI/1E
The AI GI/1E now also spawns on consoles
Minor radio improvements
A3L92 door buttons now illuminate during door preselection while driving
HK now correctly requires the controller to return to neutral if movement authority becomes available after issuing a movement command
Fixed the "Cleaning Up the Depot" scenario
Reviewed and adjusted all speed monitoring systems (GÜs)
Fixed incorrect GÜ activations
DT5 once again supports the train stop override key event
Updated stereo sound for the DT5 for a more immersive experience
Updated stereo sound for the AL1
We'd like to thank you once again for your patience and continued feedback. Many of the changes included in Update 10 are the direct result of your reports and suggestions.
We'll be spending the next two weeks on final testing and polishing to ensure that Update 10 launches in the best possible state on August 13th, 2026.
