Deep Fog Signals · published · build 23641579

It's been some time since our last update, but we wanted to share what we've been working on as we're featured in the Games Composed in Germany Showcase. This is gonna be one hefty devlog:
COMPUTER:
Added computer buttons to interface with the oscilloscope (upload and download plot points)
Added button to clear all the plot points currently drawn on the map
COMMS ROOM:
Added paper on desk featuring Chef Amidu's weekly special (which is part of a puzzle later in the game)
Added entrance door to the room.
LASER MACHINE:
Added missing interface elements (power lever, start processing button, door can be opened and closed, power meter, frequency and amplitude input screens)
Added animation for attempting to power on the machine when pulling the lever down (fails if there's not enough power on the network)
SAMPLE:
Sample container and crystal can now be acquired via the post hatch and placed inside the Laser Machine.
UI:
Reduced width of Chat panel to match the Objectives panel
Added Done and Failed labels to the Objectives
Replaced Chat tab icons by a color strip matching the channel speaker
SFX:
Added paper pickup and put down sounds
STORY & OBJECTIVES:
Added objective and gameplay to help Madat repair his navi sensors
Added research notes on the Dig Site storage device
OSCILLOSCOPE:
Activates/deactivates controls on the Computer when it's turned on/off.
SETTINGS:
Added Display Mode options
Added toggle to show/hide Tutorials
UI:
Players now don't have to close the chat panel to be allowed to advance time (but they still need to finish all ongoing dialogues)
Chat speaker name now only shows up on the first message sent by the speaker instead of with every new dialogue line
Fixed issue where the chat notification dots appeared incorrectly when starting a dialogue and ending another one at the same time.
Improved formatting of game menu buttons
Hid bandwidth allocation UI until Day 1, moved bandwidth allocation tutorials to Day 1
OSCILLOSCOPE:
Improved scaling of the screen area covered by the Arrowflight outpost perimeter
Updated map background image for visibility of outpost region
STORY & OBJECTIVES:
Improved investigation dialogue flow and conditions for guessing the sample thief (Now you can only accuse a character if you told Zaro a theory that makes sense; Removed additional option for accusing Amidu without evidence)
Fixed issue where you could no longer tell Zaro who the sample thief was, but the quest was still around.
Thank you for following along and see you in the next one! 📡
