Hi everyone,
Firstly, I wanted to say a huge thanks for the ongoing support for Slots & Daggers! The game has now sold over 300,000 copies, which is far beyond my wildest expectations! I really can’t express how grateful I am that so many of you enjoyed the game! Thank you SO MUCH!
As the last couple of months have been a bit quiet on my side, I wanted to update you on what’s going on with Slots & Daggers and my studio (which is essentially just me, lol).
Post-launch break and what I’ve been up to
As you can imagine, shipping Slots & Daggers was fun but quite stressful. I worked very hard to get this game over the finish line and burned myself out more than I realized at the time. After the initial post-launch updates I took some time off with the ambition to come back and make more content.
Since then I’ve been playing around with new ideas for Slots & Daggers, but none of it feels quite right and I haven’t found a way back into the project that feels like it would add something meaningful.
So for now, I’ve started prototyping new game ideas. Slots & Daggers is in very good shape and I keep hearing from people that they are having a great time with the game, which makes me think it’s okay to leave the game as it is for now. For those of you who were hoping for bigger content updates: I hope you can understand this decision.
I’m not saying there won’t be any future content updates, but for now, I’ll take some time to recharge my creative batteries on other projects. I’ve got some really exciting ideas that I can’t wait to share with all of you. Thanks for being supportive of this! <3
Mobile version out now
This doesn’t mean there’s been nothing happening with the game in the meantime: I’ve partnered with incredible porting studio Atteo to make a mobile version of Slots & Daggers. They did an incredible job with the port, it feels just like the original! It launched on iOS and Android yesterday in case you want to spin on the go.
Soundtrack
Many of you have been requesting the soundtrack and I’ve finally had time to sit down and give the songs a final mixing pass. Right now the soundtrack is submitted to Steam for review and as soon as I get the green light, I’ll put it online on Steam!
Take care!
Friedemann
