We’re excited to announce that Kung Fu Addiction will be participating in the October Steam Next Fest! 🎉

This will be our first major opportunity to put the game in front of a much larger audience, and we can’t wait to see players jump into the demo, try out the combat system, and share their feedback.

We’ve been working hard to get the game ready for the event, and this latest update brings a lot of new content and improvements that will be part of the experience.

Here’s what’s new:

🗺️ More Campaign Levels

The campaign has been expanded with additional levels, giving you more challenges to overcome and more opportunities to test your fighting strategies.

💾 Multi-Fighter Save Data

The save system has been reworked to properly support multiple fighters.

The campaign map position is no longer stored in one shared save file. Each fighter now tracks their own campaign progress, meaning every save slot has its own independent campaign position.

A new fighter/slot selection flow has also been added when starting a New Game, making it easier to manage different fighters and progression paths.

📊 Match & Lifetime Stats

You can now track more details about your fighting career.

The game records statistics for:

  • Successful and failed uses of custom techniques:

    • Giant Fist

    • Wood Clone

    • Fire Fist

  • Number of uses for utility techniques:

    • Revelation Eye

    • Recall

    • Both TransMutators

  • Total healing provided by Duel Recovery

  • Successful stun and counter rolls

  • Revives

Some of these statistics are now available through a new Stats view in the Main Menu.

Chain of Fate & Thief Hook

Two new NPC-exclusive techniques have been added.

Chain of Fate

Chain of Fate binds the opponent and rolls a dice to determine how many attack slots from the next sequence will be reassigned to the bound player.

The reassigned slots are front-loaded, making the technique especially dangerous when used at the right moment.

Thief Hook

Thief Hook allows an NPC to steal one randomly selected claimed technique from the opponent.

So be careful about which techniques you claim — your opponent might have a way to take one away.

📈 New Level Progress Bar

A new Level Progress Bar has been added to make campaign progression easier to understand.

You can now see the enemies you will face ahead.

👊 NPC Intentions Bar Rework

The enemy information and intentions display has been redesigned.

The enemy information bar is now positioned alongside the enemy, using a layout inspired by classic auto-battlers and deck-building games.

The goal is to make enemy intentions easier to read at a glance while keeping the combat area cleaner and more focused on the fight.
