Today's update adds a fifth free pack to the base game.
I have been heavily distracted making upgrades to the game and doing work on a linked project, intended for the Autumn Next Fest: Master Odiin's Universal Keyboard. Expect messages regarding progress, including a downloadable demo — it was meant to ship last week, so: very soon.
The alternative voices have also been parked behind a huge amount of content generation work. The coming soon list is completed content that needs final editing and store pages. After that, the majority of the work is done on Russian and Latin, with other projects under consideration. Suggestions are welcome. That's why Toki Pona is being released today:
Toki Pona is a minimalist language of around 140 words. Small enough to
finish in a summer, deep enough to say almost anything by combining simple words. This pack teaches all
of it: 500 cards, from the first word to the last, with attested phrases, original example
sentences, and audio throughout. Grammar arrives exactly when you need it — each particle's
lesson fires at the card where it first appears.
Dates available soon. The next publication season starts in August — with the voices
guaranteed during July:
Voice packs install and just work — your course speaks with them, no setup.
The whole 3,000-word German family was rebuilt and aligned to one smooth difficulty
curve: sentences now grow steadily in length and complexity from your first card to your
last — no sudden walls, no easy plateaus. Along the way: 182 sentences rewritten to fill
the old tier-4 difficulty crater, every true duplicate across Core and the expansions
eliminated, reflexive verbs marked with sich, articles spoken once and clearly, plural
notation colour-coded by gender, and English loanwords (Gaming, E-Mail, chatten...)
finally pronounced like German instead of letter-by-letter.
These improvements are intended to reduce the friction between you and your studies, and to give you one more avenue to explore in the world of conlangs (constructed languages). The best of luck with your language learning endeavours.
