This hotfix addresses several performance issues and unintended Augment imbalances introduced in update 0.2.0, 'Flight Systems', a few balance changes, and small improvements for Steam Deck as we work towards full compatibility:
Increased Text Size on many widgets to increase readability on Steam Deck.
Ship Overview hover stats now filter by exact component instance, so duplicate same-type weapons no longer all appear together.
Field weapon stats now show ammo capacity and reload time, improving readability for Ion Field and other field weapons.
Augments
Defense Protocol was causing severe performance issues and was not working as intended:
No longer inherits the weapon's damage radius. This was unintended, caused far more damage than intended, and resulted in performance problems.
Will now fire at multiple enemies within range and has a more reasonable cooldown of 0.1s.
Weapons
Rail Gun projectile speed increased from 8000 to 12000.
Rail Gun Max Ammo increased from 8 to 12.
Pulse Laser accuracy increased greatly.
Autocannon projectile speed increased from 5000 to 8000.
Fixed issues with some status effects reapplying repeatedly, which were causing minor Performance issues.
Fixed an issue where Temporal Laser could reapply itself, causing performance problems.
Fixed a recursion issue with Reactive Ionization, where it could repeatedly re-trigger itself, leading to severe performance drops and crashes.
Fixed an issue with Neural Cascade that caused runaway loops, which could trigger a crash.
Fixed an issue where weapons could drop at level 0.
Fixed an issue where Shops could only be refreshed twice.
Fixed an issue where Gamepad users couldn't apply the settings changes.
Fixed an issue with external controllers on the Steam Deck.
Fixed an issue where projectile weapons with multiple projectiles could fire much slower than their displayed fire rate. If the weapon has multiple projectiles it may still fire slower than the max fire rate as there needs to be some time between projectiles but it will now be much faster than before.
Added throttling to per-enemy hit visual effects for Ion Field and Nuclear Field to help with endgame performance issues.
Fixed an issue where certain on screen effects when taking damage or in the Solar Flare challenge could cause the mouse to get stuck if a reward appeared at the same time.
Fixed Ion Field and Nuclear Field active visuals appearing offset by attaching field VFX to the parent ship instead of the weapon pawn.
One In The Chamber now displays its magazine-size reduction as a negative/debuff value in the augment tooltip.
Almost every single one of these fixes is a result of someone sending us a report. We are extremely grateful for all of it and it truly is crucial to the development of Starforged Legacy!
