Day One Patch — Update 0.5.169

Scavland · published

A Message to Our Chinese Players

We want to apologize for the confusion regarding Simplified Chinese support.

The opportunity to properly bring Scavland to the Chinese community came very close to our Early Access release, and as a small independent team, we weren't able to finish the localization in time. And as you all know, this is a very busy year for games with limited release windows, so delaying the release unfortunately wasn't an option for us.

Simplified Chinese was incorrectly listed as supported on our Steam page at release. That was our mistake, and we have since removed it until the official localization is ready. We completely understand the frustration this caused.

Our localization agency is working on the official Simplified Chinese version, which we expect within the next few weeks.

In the meantime, the Chinese community absolutely came in clutch and put together an unofficial Chinese translation pass that is already working in-game. If you'd like to use it while waiting for the official localization, you can find more information in the Chinese Discussions section of our Steam forums.

Please keep in mind that this is a community-made, unofficial translation and is not the final localization.

We're extremely thankful to everyone who volunteered their time to help us find a solution to a problem that was ultimately ours.

Thank you for your patience and support. We hope to properly welcome all of you to Zalesye very soon.
