Today was honestly an emotional day.
Seeing so many people finally play Not Quite Dead, share feedback, report bugs, leave reviews, and talk about the game has been a lot to take in.
After spending time reading through the reviews and feedback from launch day, I can see several areas where Not Quite Dead needs improvement.
The most common feedback is around combat and hit detection, movement, survival balancing such as hunger, thirst and temperature, zombie spawning and collision issues, and some quality-of-life features.
I’ve also seen reports regarding saving/continuing games, enemies falling through the ground, zombies spawning too close to players, and some areas of the world feeling inconsistent in terms of loot and interaction.
At the same time, many players have said that they see real potential in the game, enjoy the open world, vehicles, boats, aircraft, exploration and overall concept.
I appreciate both the positive and negative reviews. Negative feedback isn’t something I want to ignore — if multiple players are experiencing the same frustration, that tells me where I need to focus.
My priority now is not simply adding more content. I want to improve the core experience first: combat, movement, survival balance, performance, AI, collisions and overall polish.
Some systems may receive significant reworks based on your feedback.
Not Quite Dead has just entered Early Access, and this first day has given me a huge amount of information about what needs to improve.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to play and leave detailed, honest feedback.
I’m listening, I’m taking notes, and I’m getting back to work. ❤️
