Today brings the last of the unusually frequent updates this week. Each one followed quickly after the previous because I managed to resolve several important issues — hence the number of patches. Here’s what’s new in today’s update.
A long‑standing issue caused enemies to spawn with incorrect inventory items. The reason: newer Unreal Engine versions sometimes misread inherited actor classes, mixing up assigned loot pools — a known Memory Leak problem.
Examples of the bug:
ZEDs could drop spider glands
Spiders or raptors could drop “human” items like food or medicine
This is now fixed.
Correct items now appear in enemy inventories
New randomized inventory for ZEDs
Feral ZED should now carry ARS Remedy
All enemy voice lines/sounds have been re‑enabled
I tested the new build — enemy inventories match the intended design. Please report any unexpected loot you encounter.
The fix works only for NEW GAME. Old saves may still load outdated enemy inventories.
Restored lake buoyancy near the pier
Minor terrain improvements
After recent changes, some achievements became difficult or impossible to trigger — including Turkey Shoot, Not so fast!, Arachnophobia, Power of light!, and Echoes of Nimrod. These are now fixed.
I also re‑checked the newer achievements — including Luminous, which surprisingly I didn’t have — and it activated correctly even before today’s update.
This new task starts shortly after leaving the shuttle. It guides new players toward collecting Obedient points and reaching the Forwarding Base, making early progression smoother. It also ties into my recent video and the new Steam Guides.
Additionally, the area around the ARCHEO shelter now contains more mushrooms to collect, making the task easier.
