The addition of meteorites and collectible meteorite fragments naturally shaped today’s update. You can now process gathered meteorite material into crafting components, along with several new meteorite‑based items and blueprints. I’ve also included a handful of previously announced changes — enjoy!
Thermal Forge is a new automated crafting station that processes meteorite fragments and metal scrap into usable crafting materials. It melts the input and shapes it into Sheets or Slabs. (Metal Sheets and Metal Slabs currently have no blueprint use — coming soon.)
The station is fully automatic and does not require the player to stay nearby.
Processing time varies depending on the input, usually a few minutes.
Nesoi Island currently contains two Thermal Forges; the first one is located near Forwarding.
For safety reasons, these stations are placed outdoors.
⚠️ Important — First Version Limitation: Thermal Forge does not save its state yet. If you start processing, save the game, exit, and reload — the station will be reset, emptied, and all inserted materials will be lost. Until full save support is added, please wait until the production finishes and the output is delivered.
Thermal Forge will receive further visual and functional improvements. In future updates, some stations may require repairs or access cards before use.
You can now reinforce found armor pieces using a meteorite alloy plate, increasing durability — especially impact resistance.
A new, durable knife inspired by a native style:
excellent durability,
high damage,
very effective for breaching.
Crate accessibility (OPEN / breaching / repair / hacking) is now tied to the selected difficulty level:
WAYFARER — crates are more often open and less frequently secured,
higher difficulties — more locked crates and more frequent security checks.
Crate contents remain random, but secured crates contain more items and higher‑tier loot.
These changes primarily affect outdoor crates found across Nesoi Island. Crates located inside shelters currently use fixed access states (OPEN / breaching / repair / hacking), but this will also change soon — a major modular shelters update is coming, bringing new rules for interior containers, access systems, and environmental interactions.
While working on the Thermal Forge display, I also improved the readability of all terminals. Screens are now much clearer regardless of lighting conditions or whether your visor is open or closed.
This is the final August update for ☵ HIRAETH — a month full of major additions and improvements. If everything goes well, September is shaping up to be even more exciting.
