Greetings fellow rulers!
We're super excited to share big news with you - development is going well and we are checking off one thing after another. The release is already in less than two weeks (!) and we want to finally give the demo some love again. This update contains a huge number of changes and fixes, but we don't want to go through them all in detail. Instead, here are three things we want to highlight.
UI changed... A LOT. The bottom box which used to display bookmarks and other sorts of infos was replaced by a book which makes for a much nicer display. Also, this is its sole purpose now. The overview of depleting resources was shifted to the resource panel on the left - whenever you hover over it, the UI expands and shows a new button which can be used to filter resources for ones that are depleting or low on stock. The UI scaling changed as well, allowing us to make it a bit higher resolution and hide less of the world. After all, you're managing a kingdom - not an Excel file.
Also, the bottom right box was replaced with our beloved consultant who got a make-over as well. However, he's not just there as decoration, as we...
The days of a scroll hitting you with a wall of text and throwing you out of gameplay are gone. Instead, your consultant will give you advice on all sorts of features throughout your kingdom management journey as a ruler. Also, he makes the tutorials a lot more interactive where it's useful. With his guidance, it will be much easier to figure things out when ruling your kingdom. After all, you need to manage a lot - for example your army.
The new UI scaling allows us to get rid of some of the tabbing when setting up your army to fight against monsters. This means that you can finally get all the info in one glance instead of having to switch back and forth between tabs to check out unique formations and strategies. Speaking of strategies - they are no longer loosely shown on the right and instead directly next to the Unit they affect. The whole process of setting up formations has been vastly improved, is followed by a proper interactive tutorial, and should now feel a lot better than ever. Also, you finally keep formations between prestiges.
As you progress further, the empty space fills up with more and more options, allowing you to plan your armies' moves just the same way as you would tell them to when watching their back directly.
That's it for now. While the demo didn't get any major new content (just a few upgrades here and there as well as polish, fixes etc.), we do hope you're happy with how the game is shaping up as the demo is now closely representing the final release. If you finished the demo already and want to see how the final game will look like - give it a go!
That being said - thanks for all the feedback, discussions and for playing the game. We can't describe how much it means to see how many people enjoy Next Reign: Kingdom.
If you have any further feedback or come across any bugs or things that smell fishy, don't hesitate to reach out to us through the Community Hub. We're reading all the discussions there and are happy to get in touch with you :)
See you in your Next Reign!
