Building and island bases

  • The regular Q build catalog now works on rafts and islands. Foundations, walls, doors, stairs, upper floors, workstations, chests, planters, beds and campfires use the same items and recipes on land as they do on a raft.
  • Foundations, walls and upper floors snap more reliably. Foundations placed on slopes retain the intended connection height and receive supports that reach the terrain.
  • Multiple separate bases can be built on the same island as long as their protected areas do not overlap.
  • Build preview, mouse control and player movement remain available while building. The coastal interface stays inside the viewport and no longer darkens the game unnecessarily.
  • Doors now rotate the door leaf instead of the complete wall. Windows, stairs and other pieces received geometry, material and flicker corrections.
  • Islands now contain usable resources. Dropped items and debris account for terrain height and no longer sink through island ground.
  • New islands transition continuously into the seabed underwater.

Dedicated servers and multiplayer

  • Every player on a dedicated server receives an independently saved raft, raft storage and safe starting position. Existing shared raft behavior in peer coop remains unchanged.
  • Players and rafts synchronize with the correct carrier identity. Remote players therefore appear on their actual raft instead of the local raft.
  • Fleet replication now uses spatial visibility ranges. A player's own raft and current carrier always remain loaded, while distant foreign rafts are no longer fully replicated to every client.
  • Owners can invite nearby players to build on their raft or island base. Accepting grants building and locked door access without transferring ownership of the invited player's home raft.
  • Any physically reachable island chest remains accessible and lootable.
  • The server authoritatively saves the world, player profiles, fleet assignment, raft storage, base access and island chests. Join and reconnect restore the correct world, raft and safe position.
  • Crafting, building, pickup and chest transactions now commit updated player state reliably.

Chests and inventory

  • Every player-built island chest now has its own contents instead of sharing raft storage or another chest.
  • Individual items and partial amounts can be deposited or withdrawn. Full backpacks and chests are handled without partial loss.
  • State revisions and transaction receipts prevent duplicated loot during retries and concurrent access.
  • Regular chests hold 110 units and large storage chests hold 260 units. Existing saves receive appropriate defaults.

World, threats and rules

  • Sharks, raiders and the leviathan are scheduled and simulated on dedicated servers without depending on an original host.
  • A shark does not attack a raft while its complete active crew is on land.
  • Threats and floating debris now use active player rafts and are distributed across them.
  • New worlds generate islands less densely and farther apart. Existing saves retain their world layout.
  • Repeated aground notifications are now debounced.
  • Stamina is server authoritative in dedicated sessions. The display is smoothed without changing gameplay values or hunger and thirst rules.
  • PvP stage 1 validates weapon damage on the server. Structures remain protected and PvE remains active.
  • If the game starts before Steam, it retries Steam initialization later.

Thank you for all reports. We continue to read every message and will address the remaining small multiplayer and input issues next.
