Raiders, wanderers and animals plan a route around walls, wrecks and buildings instead of walking into them.
A body that cannot get past something steps aside and tries another way, and remembers the spot so it plans around it next time.
Routes keep a wider berth around corners, so bodies stop catching on wall ends.
No more shuffling on the spot, and no more walking down and back up after bumping into a wreck, diagonals included.
A raid party surrounds you properly. Flankers take the long way round instead of queueing behind the brawler, and are never sent to a spot they cannot reach.
Raiders say something when their nerve breaks and they run.
Wanderers and animals are slowed by vines and cut by thorns like everything else, feral dogs included.
Animals and wanderers see as far through weather as raiders do, and no further.
Weather
Fog is no longer a blindfold. Sight through it goes from about three tiles to about four and a half, for you and for them.
Sleeping through a night moves the sky on. You can wake to different weather, and rain that fell while you slept has wet the ground and filled what was out to catch it.
Fog no longer leaves a hole overhead after the camera pans away and back.
The tablet
Up and down keys on the lists, and the scroll bar is gone.
The craft list uses the full width of the page instead of stranding an empty column.
Bags on the ground and containers size their grid to what is in them and fill the space they have.
"Dropped items" is now "Ground".
Split, build, plus and minus restyled, stacked and smaller, and they no longer overlap what is under them.
Opening the map page dims the world behind it, like the other two pages do.
Item icons redrawn with colour, the pickaxe and the anvil in particular.
Fixes
Walls you built can be repaired at all now, and repairing no longer charges you for a different structure standing nearby.
Fire scorches the tile you are standing on rather than the one past it.
A torch in your hand no longer lights the ground while you are down or asleep.
Letting go of an item over the tablet's frame no longer drops it on the floor.
The controls page names both belt directions on a controller.
What put you down survives quitting and reloading while you are bleeding out.
Weather, wet ground, footprints and roof shade no longer carry over from the last world you were in.
Plants flinch when they are hit, and a fleeing critter no longer freezes in the open.
Multiplayer
Guests no longer see corner posts and hanging torches left floating after a wall comes down.
Faction territory and your tablet's charge arrive when you join or reload rather than staying blank.
Steadier movement on a lossy connection.
Taking a structure down or repairing it hits what your cursor is on rather than what the host last heard about it.
A clearer message when a session cannot be started or joined.
