Recently, a player gave us feedback:
As the game progresses into the mid and late stages, players still need a large amount of resources, but repeatedly searching containers can gradually become tiring.
We completely agree with this feedback.
Exploration and scavenging should bring the excitement of discovering something valuable, rather than becoming repetitive work later in the game.
However, simply turning searching into a single-button action would also remove the fun of exploration.
So we created a new search gameplay feature:
The original search system remains completely unchanged.
Players can still search containers one by one as before.
However, when holding X to scan nearby containers, you will now find a new option in the container interface:Thorough Search
Selecting it will launch the new Thorough Scavenging gameplay.
Thorough Scavenging uses a slot-machine-style quick resolution system.
Players spend a fixed amount of Mentality to perform a complete search of nearby resources at once.
In addition to normal search rewards, different symbol combinations can provide:
Additional Mentality
Additional Wen
Better-quality search results
Grain: Gain a small amount of Mentality
Wine Cup: Gain a medium amount of Mentality
Dragon Head: Gain a large amount of Mentality and affects the quality of discovered items. More Dragon Heads and longer consecutive combinations increase the chance of finding higher-quality items.
Wen Coins: Gain a small amount of Wen
Coin Pouch: Gain a medium amount of Wen
Gold Ingot: Gain a large amount of Wen
Bamboo Scroll: You found a quest item
In other words, searching now offers two different approaches:
If you enjoy careful exploration, you can continue searching containers individually.
If you want to quickly gather resources, you can use Thorough Scavenging.
We hope this new feature not only reduces the fatigue of repeated searching in the mid and late game, but also makes the act of “searching every corner” itself more exciting and rewarding.
This update also adds the ability to adjust game difficulty during your playthrough.
Players can now change the difficulty according to their preferred experience.
Please note:
Changing difficulty will prevent you from obtaining achievements related to completing the game on Challenge difficulty.
If you are currently pursuing these achievements, please adjust carefully.
This update also includes several less visible fixes that improve overall gameplay experience.
Examples:
Fixed an issue where Zhang Fei could occasionally leave Zhang An's mansion area under certain conditions.
Fixed several other minor gameplay and progression issues.
We will continue listening to player feedback and improving the Enhanced Edition experience.
Enjoy the game, and may your Thorough Scavenging bring you more Dragon Heads and fewer empty searches!
