Hello everyone,
I've decided to again move the release date of The Aether Project to October 2nd, 2026.
I apologize to everyone who was expecting the game sooner. Delaying the release is necessary in this case.
I do not want to release an unfinished version of The Aether Project that falls short of what I originally envisioned. The additional development time will allow me to improve the overall quality, expand the story, polish the mechanics, and make sure the game offers a more complete and enjoyable tower-defense experience at launch.
The release will not mark the end of development. After October 2, I plan to continue supporting the game with new levels, additional challenges, balancing improvements, bug fixes, and other content.
Development has continued steadily, and several additions and improvements have already been completed:
A new sea-themed level (Level 5)
Performance optimizations
A new loading screen
A new ability created for the sea level
Numerous bug fixes and general improvements
Enemy count display for each wave
New Quality setting: MSAA: OFF, 2x, 4x, 8x
Aether Rifts are a new gameplay system that can introduce unpredictable events during a battle.
Rifts may create new enemies in the middle of the battlefield, empower enemies, interfere with towers, or otherwise disrupt the battlefield. Players will need to react to these events that spawn at random places and adapt their strategy instead of relying on the same defensive layout throughout an entire level.
The sea environment will be expanded with additional maps, layouts, mechanics, and challenges.
I am also developing several other themes for the game, including:
Swamp
Desert
The Aether Dimension
Each environment is intended to offer its own visual identity, battlefield layouts, and strategic challenges.
I am continuing to develop the story that connects the different environments of The Aether Project.
The goal is to give players a clearer journey through the game while preserving the focus on evolving battlefields, defensive planning, and adapting to unexpected threats.
Thank you for your patience and for following the development of The Aether Project.
I understand that delays can be disappointing, but I would rather take the necessary time to deliver a stronger and more complete game than release something that does not properly represent my vision.
The Aether Project will release on October 2nd, 2026.
More development updates will be shared as the release approaches.
